For me, I'm pretty sure it's because I am the youngest sibling, with 2 remaining older sisters, and I was primarily raised by my mom, so I was kind of trained to play nice with grills and understand them a little bit - meaning just the general stuff. I honestly don't know, and am a little concerned because I don't.
I was going to just talk to her before class started today, but I fucked up and didn't go along with my plans so I wound up getting there on time, and I was actually upset by that a bit.
And because of the way our assignments were done I wound up not being near her either so I couldn't talk to her while we were all painting, which also bothered me.

Well yea but if it may affect other people then I get my arse into gear. I only cook half the things I eat as I'm not a huge fan of cleaning up afterwards I am the dishwasher but if I'm gonna be seeing someone or I have somewhere/thing to do that day then I'm always early, unless traffic shafts me. I'm used to being within a family unit so if I'm going on a night out then I'll be ready about 2 hours before I need to be anywhere, purely because I am used to waiting before I take a shower and dress up 'n' shiz if I don't.
Maybe I'm a little strange when it comes to this. It just baffles me that people know of an event, but turn up and say that they didn't have time to get ready. I don't remember what county, think sweden maybe, but it was this survivor type show. Only it was actual "here's some supplies, survive for a month or two on this island" type show, where they were left to their own devices.
The Men and Women are split up in it every time.
And every time the Women always wind up needing to get assistance in like the first few weeks and usually wind up getting one guy to be their work horse.
Meanwhile the Men always wind up teaming up and distributing duties to those best suited, and get a nice little self sufficient Men's club going within the first few weeks and just coast along til it's over.
Then there's the reactions you'll often get if you say stuff like this. I guess I'll start with the money:
There isn't any. Not for Wheelsman, anyway. He donated a LOT of his time and effort to keeping this site up while it was being attacked last year (if you were around for that) and he made zero dollars from any of it. 8ch runs at a deficit and only exists because of the generosity of Jim and 2ch. HW survives because of his other contracts he takes out for webdev stuffs.
Second, Infinity Next is not a Hotchair project, it's Josh's. He's the only dev, and he's writing the site from the ground up, unlike moot who really only copied the code 4chan used. He's shooting for a late November Beta and a late December full transition over to the software. I think it's a realistic timetable seeing the state of Next as it is now. The site has a lot of cool features whose value will only be appreciated in due time (provided they work how they should.)

Indeed. It is not being patched because it has too many bandaids on it already. Hence leaving all of this code behind and starting fresh later.
This really is nothing compared to how the site was last year around this time - constant hosting migrations, constant DDOS, all sorts of stuff.
Sans technical problems I really like the pace of this site. It's comfortable. I've been talking with some guy on /vr/ for like a week through the same thread and we went from shitposting to actually being somewhat civil - something that never would've happened if the thread only lasted like 2 hours then 404d. If this site really does die I think I'd leave imageboards for good.

Despite the technical issues, I'm inclined to agree with you on my opinion of this site. As a whole I've found the general community to be far better than what I've previously encountered over the years, and the way it's set up is great, when it works anyway. The community is good enough that I've found discussion and thread quality to be the reason any activity occurs on boards of any notoriety. It's also pretty smartly set up to avoid shitposting too, what with stuff like thread ID's being a board feature and all.
The only problem is the size of the community and how you browse boards, for one it's not even that big on the most active boards, the biggest being /v/ with an active userbase of around only 3.5K, and the rankings quickly nose dive exponentially with the fourth one sitting at sub 800.
So boards like this one get kind of lost and the already thinly spread userbase doesn't really find it.
I only found this board by chance, and that was on the even deader /cgl/.

Oh wow, there's a /cgl/ board here? Board discovery has been a huge issue for the site - fixing it is what it really needs to grow. Right now, /bane/ seems to be one of the few boards whose culture strings the others together in a positive way. Meaning, no raiding threads with politics or whatever, just pure funposting. I feel like there could be a lot more /bane/-tier boards on the site if people just knew about them. I'm gonna post about it on /operate/ some time tonight and see if anybody's come up with any new ideas since the last time that was a central topic of discussion back when /operate/ was moving really quickly.

The only way I've ever found new boards is by seeing them posted, aside from the ones that have the same names (/a/, /m/, etc) or really obvious ones like /art/, it's pretty hard to find stuff.

It's more that I'm looking after my sibling with special needs while my mother works.
