Maybe we should consider alternatives, as some Eastern European dountries sell land pretty cheap, and in the future could sell for alot of money? The Faroe islands also seem pretty good for location. Look for example at www.inni.fo

theres the island off the coast of estonia, it has a 100% white population of 9000, and is mostly scattered farmers. estonia doesnt exactly have it together so succession could be easy, and its very close to other nordic countries which would allow for attracting colonists.

b2b37d No.1451

>>1449

Yeah Estonia might be good, the landowners made alot of money because land prices rose. You can buy like 5acres for 10000 euros. Bulgaria might also be a good option, with houses as cheap as 3000 euro. Finland seems to be a good option aswell.

Estonia is a great place. I've been there 5 or some times. It has got this european history and architecture we (here in Finland) lack. Also the people are very nice. Can't find anything bad to say about them.

Though there is a big russian "minority" (russian speaking parties get about 20% of votes in every election). This does not bother me at all for I like russians, but it could be a turn off for some of you yankees.

The point of this board is to colonize Greenland because it is a previously nearly uninhabited frozen waste but thanks to global warming is now fresh ripe for colonization.

That said Other areas of the Arctic would be viable, such as the Northern Coast of Canada and the various other Islands out there. Antarctica would be good but UN laws forbid.

also:

>secession

Not really viable unless you want Navy Seals snuffing you out, the Idea is to get in a Place where nobody gives a fuck and do your own thing while remaining in the boundaries of the law and gaining the trust and support of the locals.

>The point of this board is to create a sustainable community

Yep that's right

VICE and /namibia/

b2b37d No.1461

>>1457

So potentially we have Greenland, Estonia, Finland, Bulgaria, Faroes, Shetland islands, Northern Canada, perhaps Northern Norway and other Eastern European countries like Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, etc? I'll make a list of countries and their pros and cons to help decide which is better for our sustainable community

8d7af9 No.1462

Well to be honest Europe in General is a pretty bad Idea, with Russia wanting to be stronk again I wouldn't want to do anything near there for any Long Term Periods of time.

As for locations:

>Tasmania

>Northern Alaska near the town of dead horse

>British Columbia

>New England area

Though Greenland seems like a better Idea because of all the Mining industry starting out there, and there are plans for developing the region but people need manpower to do it.

For example using the rubble rock from mining being dumped into the sea eventually expanding the coast and allowing for more flat fields that can sustain crops or grass which would help stimulate the ecosystem.

321bde No.1465

>>1462

Yeah it's just the main problem with Greenland is that you can't buy land, so there is a high probability that we wouldn't even be able to start our project in Greenland

8d7af9 No.1466

>>1465

well in a few years there may be reforms in Greenland and possibly a Greenlandic Government being separated from Denmark.

Also they don't care if you squat really.

Just remembered haida gwaii, its a large archipelago off british columbias coast, and directly south of alaskas southernmost tip. Great weather, only a population of 4000 and highly easy to get to for americans, canadians and pretty much anyone since all it requires is a plane ride to bc and a ferry ride to the island. Its mostly logging communities with one "native village" of i believe less than 1000 on the northernmost island, the island to the south is essentially unpopulated besides fr the town of sandspit which has a population of 400. The only problem is the natives on the northern island however we could easily just stick to the south and mind our own buisness and use them as trading partners.

the faroe might be nice but most of the islands already have existing homogeneous communities, and even have their own langauge. Id hate to ruin what they have going for them.

321bde No.1477

>>1474

>already have existing homogeneous communities, and even have their own langauge

The same could be said for any other place we would like to go.

Expect the homogeneous communities to change eventually anyway, and perhaps we could assimilate into their culture.

3fc4fb No.1478

>>1477

assimilation is harder done than said and i dont want to just part of some foreign horde that edges out local culture without even realizing. Thats what creating this community is trying to stop, to create a place where we dont have to fear the foreign hordes and their like, if creating it means being those people im not sure how i feel about it. That said if we did assimilate, whats the end goal, faroe islands has a population of 50,000 which means even within the smaller settlements(which are also the most xenophobic) we wouldnt have much voice.

African American you do realize this isn't /namiba/ right? check the sticky thread this is about improving the envirmoment of greenland and maybe other places

3fc4fb No.1484

>>1480

This is about a sustainable community, where we do our own thing and try to help the environment, i was just saying if we immigrate to quickly we could impact the native faroe islanders and their unique culture. Is that good enough to keep VICE off our dicks.

Anticosti

-quarter the size of belgium

-population 250

-close and easy to get to for burgers and canucks.

-nice scenery

-better weather than greenland

Cons

-they are looking to drill oil starting in 2020, but first need the residents approval which has not been granted yet

Fuck, it's a tie between 4 places.

Eastern Europe isn't very specific though, and you missed out Finland.

A little bit about Shetland:

>It has a strong Christian community

>large ferries can and do dock there (at least in Lerwick)

>There's a significant lack of young people, especially young women

>There's a lot of job advertisements as a result of the declining population

And that's all I know about Shetland. They do speak English (unlike the Faroes where they speak Danish IIRC).

5788c9 No.1502

>>1501

Oh, and to add, Iain Banks' 'The Wasp Factory' captures life in rural Scotland quite well (youths still gathering to get shit-faced, nothing much in the way of culture or events going on).

It's not a life people appreciate when they're born in to it, but certainly one that people chase given the rise of commuter villages and the rocketing of country house prices in the past couple of decades here in the UK.

NOT Northern Norway!

Refugees are spilling through there from Russia. You don't want to set up anything there as it will be trampled and looted once things intesify further.

We don't want to be tied up to a continent. That Estonian island sounds good. We want something like that, as logistics become more complicated for invaders.

If there are refugees "trampling" shit, we can also not be idiots and have a parameter of security around our actually private property. Aren't guns legal In Norway?
