Infograph project
So my fellow two or three /grim/lins, I'm sure you've noticed that one of the most popular types of threads around here thus far - or at least the one that gets reposted the most - is a /grim/ media thread.
I think what this board could use is some infographs of all the essential /grim/ music, films, and books (and maybe vidya and some other things).
So post your suggestions in this thread, preferably with some accompanying picture, and I will shoop them together into infographs.
/grim/ general thread
/grim/ GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD
I didn't see one in the catalog, and I didn't know where to post this shit, so here. I was bored, doodling the other night, and came up with some OC you guys might like. I hope it doesn't come across too enlightened.
Got any /grim/ OC? Seen any good scary movies recently? Want to rant about your current existential crisis? Shitpost skeletons? Come shoot the shit 'till death with me.
Hello skeletons.
Another day spent lying around, sleeping and drinking. To be honest, it doesn't seem worth the effort. Typing this post is the most activity I've had in some time, and it's totally exhausting.
I suppose I could be considered terminally depressed or insane, but that term really just denotes anyone whose accepted mythos conflicts with that of the labeller; I see no reason that my apathy should be less desirable than the action idealized by another, be they skeleton, man or god.
Why then, did I take it upon myself to break from my beloved apathy to come here and ramble pretentiously?
Why am I still alive?
optimist here, I would like to discuss shit with you, not here to troll or act condescending.
What do you gain from your nihilism? how does it make you strive?
I had a pretty rough life as a poorfag and because I became an optimist it helped me strive both socially and economically. I can elaborate if anyone is interested.
this place seems chill.
Does anyone else browse /suicide/ for entertainment despite not being suicidal?
I don't even post, I just lurk and watch people kill themselves. Makes me a little sad to watch intelligent, thoughtful people with big hearts off themselves, but I can't stop them, so I just enjoy their last posts.
Nihilism and Science
First and foremost: I may not have been greypilled. There are quite a few definitions of nihilism out there and many seem to be written by overlords, thus being pretty worthless. Should any of my assumptions about nihilism be wrong, feel free to greypill me.
Something I've been wondering about is how nihilists look at science. Does truth have to imply meaning? And would you consider science rather looking for truth or the meaning of something? That is, especially regarding subjects like physics, chemistry and maybe maths, which (except for the latter) deal with the world as it is and not with moral or people.
Does nihilism also deny the existence of asbolute truths? Because from what I've heard some people argue that all truth is subjecte and thus worthless. What's your take on that matter?
Furthermore, would you say nihilism shares some similarities with Zen Buddhism as both seem to be a philosophy about nothing/nothingness?
Just a general negativity thread. Post anything that makes you rage/depressed/reminds you how meaningless everything is/generally upset can be anything and everything.
Feel free to call others pussies/disagree/be autistic

Does death make you feel scared? I've always thought this way: alive beings are kind like computers. When you die it is because you broke in some way, at which point you stop functioning. So of course, there is nothing for you at this point. You just were an illusion in the first place. Why be scared of it? You just won't give a fuck when that happens: there is no you to give it anyway.
death is to grim [Embassy]
Hi /grim/ !
>>>/death/ here
You have the whole grim and dreary qualities of death, and we trust we will be able to visit here to explore them whenever needed.
There are many places that are helpful in finding us and methods to verify our identities.
At /death/ we find peace in the final resting place, assuming you don't get thrown back into this mortal realm upon the expiration date of a fleshbag you may inhabit for a while.
Some hint that this true death, this release from an endless cycle, is difficult to achieve and requires a mode of existence for your essence or spirit whathaveyou to enter in order to sever the bonds from this torment. We have yet to find a way to be sure of this because successful entities that find this bliss would be unable to share - and really that desire to share would make them fail!
Life is suffering. The proof is that large amounts of suffering that do not irreparably damage your meatbag inevitably make it stronger. Torment gives you strength. Pain makes you know you live. Hope.
Hope is the core of all suffering. It is hope that causes a desire to live. It is hope for your related ones and friends that torments you with a return to a new fleshbag.
We are born through struggle and some kill the womb that brought them to this world. We live only to find ways to inflict suffering. Name a device or process invented by fleshbags and you will either see its beginning in war, a related process more refined used for war or it simply fuels the fleshbags and their machines.
Hate keeps you alive. Hate, Anger, Fury, Vengeance, Rage, they invigorate the fleshbags to their peak capabilities; to cause more suffering. One multiplies, the other attacks the external world. Both units of destruction; pain and suffering. Destruction is the substrate for rebirth. So both are processes to bring in more torment.
True Death, the release from all attachment is not as grim as life
So /death/ is to /grim/ what /happy/ is to /suicide/
And /death/ is to /grim/ what /sf/ is to /vvv/
We can never match /grim/ in the horrors and cruelties that skeletons gift to the world when fleshbags are attached to them.
Summoning Death
This is call to all who are ready for the end, not for one, or a group, but to our race. Death not
of disease, or mass murder, or suffering in general, but a quick death to all. Call on this death,
pray for, will it, meditate on it. This world is not of peace, it is pain, and suffering. Let us all
receive the void, every person. No tears will have to be shed, no one will be missed, no one left behind.
/grim/ tabletop
So last night at the horror movie stream, a few of us talked about running some tabletop games like Vampire: The Masquerade.
Since then I've added someone that's interested in joining.
If anyone else would be interested in joining and playing, I suppose this would be the thread to say so.
Newcomers or vets are welcome, I'm willing to take the time to help anyone who needs it.
Dreams of Death
How many of you have had dreams about your death or someone else's death? How was the dream?

>We sit by the fire and I eat the berries
>He smiles at me again and I smile back
>I can feel the poison running through my veins
>I say thank you and stare at the fire
>I feel myself drift off
>I lay down and am suddenly awoken by that familiar falling feeling
>Probably most peaceful dream I've had in a while

Videos of death/pictures just before death
I can't be the only one here that's fascinated as fuck by this. Note that this doesn't include gore, as the poor fucks in gore have already died. This is about the act of dying itself, and the leadup. Bonus points for first person death videos/ability to see eyes fade during the act of death.
Let's begin with a senseless skydiver death:

Pic related, she fell to her death right after the photo was taken.

A series of vignettes similar to The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits focusing on possible negative outcomes to today's technological trends.

Sorry for the late notice, I didn't know you existed until just now, seeing you on >>>/boo/ which I also didn't know about until about an hour ago.
Horror general
/grim/ is now a board for horror, so where the fuck is the horror general thread? Get in here skeltals. Let's talk about good horror movies we've seen lately, good books we've read lately, our favorite books/movies, the aesthetics/theory of horror, etc.
Pic related: Just watched /V/H/S/2 finally, and holy fucking shit does this movie have one of the best and most interesting zombie episodes I've seen in a long time. It was really surprising because I haven't seen anything interesting or novel done with the zombie genre in a long time.
Also, second pic: Kairo (Pulse) is a Japanese horror movie, only a very weird one. It's one of the most strangely depressing apocalyptic horror movies I've ever seen. I'd highly recommend it as essential /grim/-core.
Anybody else ready for Posdaism? I'm just ready for everything to get nuked so aliens will bring us communism and the wonders of thousands of years of scientific advance.
I'm not sure that I even care if I get burned up too. The thought of all those normies getting roasted too helps me get up in the morning.
Have you eaten your poop yet, dude?
it's not that hard to do!
The ability to eat poop was created by Reggie Poopface, who did this vid!
Pills are a thing of the past, eating your poop is where it's at!
This vid should show you how to do it!
Any comments or questions?
Feel free to drop them in the reply box below, and I'll try to discuss it with you as fast as I can!
What are you waiting for, dude?
Eat your poop now!
Colored pills just don't work as good as your poop!
Ignore the douchebags who suggest other methods of memeing, this one is truly the greatest!
Do you plan the way you want to die?
Pretty much the subject, it's my first time posting so if I am being a faggot then my apologies.
Anyway here's my plan to die:
>get rope
>find woods with a camping area near by
>find the perfect secluded spot
>write down directions on pieces of paper
>many pieces of paper, hundreds maybe
>make it seem like directions to a treasure
>so that people in the camp can hunt for treasure
>scatter them strategically around the woods
>find a tree
>hang myself
>don't forget to scatter the pieces of paper, otherwise the whole thing doesn't work
Either this or I'll just go baskin' robin way, if I actually decide to kill myself
/suicide/ (the board) is doofy
Jesus CHRIST, it reeks of mis-medicated teens who can't seem to get together a serious plan to pull a bag over their heads (because that seems to be the preferred method).
Are there any serious places left which discuss the pros and cons of various methods in a reasoned, sober manner that aren't all "fuck you, kill yourself" edgelord style?
WAKE UP
Time to get this board back up and running. We might be dead on the inside, but that doesn't mean this board has to die with us! We need to advertise, and start new threads. Dump skeletons with /grim/ so we can go out and start our campaign and get this dreadful place back to it's usual, gloomy, self.
Denial
I've never understood why people are optimistic about things, cynicism is more grounded in reality and makes more sense. I mean, think about it, if you expect everything to go well, you'll be disappointed when it doesn't, but if you expect everything to go wrong, you'll not be disappointed when it does, and if everything works out you'll be pleasantly surprised.
So why would people remain in the land of optimism when it's neither reasonable nor real? Their feels? That probably has something to do with it, I doubt many people like life's cynical attributes, but that doesn't negate reality. Ignoring the grim reality seems to be a common trend in people, and that's really what this thread is about: Why do so many people deny reality and instead choose to live as if they are in an idealistic fantasy?
Do not lift weights
If you want to die soon but don't care to actively perform a suicide then don't lift weights. You will decrease your lifespan a few years!
Resistance training to maintain and improve lean body mass has the most benefits
Cardiovascular health benefits best from weight training; more than endurance cardiovscular
>They found that men with high grip strength had a decreased risk of mortality; 23 percent lower for every 1 standard deviation (15 kg) increase in grip strength.
>Women with higher grip strength had a 19 percent decreased risk of mortality for every 1 standard deviation (10 kg) increase in grip strength.
>Researchers used to think that overweight elderly people had a higher risk of dying, but recent studies have shown that both overweight and underweight elderly people are more likely to die. More and more epidemiologists are therefore coming to the conclusion that it’s not bodyweight that determines how long you are likely to live, but lean body mass.
>We have shown that using typical resistance machines—three days a week at a moderate intensity (65 percent of your 10-repetition maximum) for three sets and 10 repetitions can lead to heart benefits," says Collier. He also adds that one should complete reps at a slow rate to get the most effective workout from the equipment.
