MYFAROG, Varg's antiquity-themed RPG, is out. The first 100 copies are already gone but more will be on their way, so keep an eye out for them.

It is currently not available in PDF format though that could well change.

I have yet to find the time to watch the demo in youtube but I've read so far as to find out that Sorcery will be linked to stamina. I like this portrayal a lot, it deviates from the idea that mages are water balloons full of blue mana goo.

(Not sure if post number linking is working.)

Yeah, it's also neat that you can stop a sorcerer from casting spells for a while by cutting off his beard.

I guess magic in fantasy kinda goes one of two routes, you have the aforementioned blue goo thing where magic is basically a resource and spells are generally scientific, this being more of a vidya thing although some (like Magicka) do avert it. And on the other hand you have magic as, well, magic. Varg seems to prefer the latter.

I have to admit I do personally prefer to former blue mana goo type with scientific magic since it feels to me like it allows more flexibility while keeping to established levels of power, although ultimately they're both pretty good.

If a /grognard/ game starts up for this I would absolutely love to play it. I'd be down for text or voice, because I know there is no way I'd be able to play it at all if it wasn't through this site.

Is there a source for this? I love great fluff mechanics like this.

Sounds good to me. If one of us manages to snag a copy I would absolutely be down for that.

Read it on his blog here, I am assuming it stayed that way in the final release.

>A sorcerer can only cast spells using his sorcerer’s staff, and if you manage to catch a sorcerer all you need to make him forget all his spells is to cut his hair, beard and nails. If you do he will need some time to “re-remember” them.

Eh, it'd depend on the exact scanner and software but most of them should have an option to have the output file be PDF directly.
