How often do you guys practice traditional gaming, and what experiences do you have?
Some years ago it was a huge part of my life. I managed a hobby shop. we'd host Magic tournaments, run or host a variety of table top games like DnD, have some other card games weekly (like the WoW cardgame), and had a collection of boardgames we'd sell and demo (not counting what other's would bring to play themselves).
Saddly, the business went under (owners screwing things up). Since that point I have lost much desire to partake in traditional gaming and have wallowed in pity with digital games. It also hasn't helped that I've been moving around, state to state, on a regular basis making having a gaming group I get along with pretty tough.
I think it has been since Zendikar. Even though I haven't been keeping up with it I still keep track of my major dates through the release of Magic sets as well as other little things here and there.

Similar situation here. Used to be pretty into 40k (glorious Eldar master race), but lately - especially since my job has shitty hours - haven't had a whole lot of opportunities to play any traditional games. Or even much vidya. Maybe we can put together something online on the weekends.
Sorry to hear about your store going down.

Right now I am too busy. Once the summer rolls around again I do plan on getting back into traditional gaming.Depending on what is popular in my area at the time.
That said I am in a Savage Worlds Fallout campaign currently.

It's getting harder and harder to find time to play with my old D&D group. We take turns DMing and it's been my turn as of late, but school has been eating up the time I have to write. Not to mention the holiday season is rolling in at work so I haven't been in the proper mood for adventure. It bums me out. I finally found a group of swell guys and it's falling apart, and I feel responsible.
A different friend hit me up a few days ago and says that he and his room mates want me to run Call of Cthulhu for them. Their schedule coincides with mine a little better than my old group so I'm determined to give it a shot. I've never run the system before, but they're all new players so this may be a chance to break out of my funk and improve as a person. I mean GM.

>>25Basically the same. I had a long time group that did rpgs and 40k. My LGS moved to a tiny location with a few tables basically only there for fnm and the weekly 40k tournament - last time I checked it's on the verge of going under or moving again to some place even smaller.
As far as my group is concerned, after I passed the DM mantle following massive burnout the successor DM has basically disbanded the group. I've never actually played a full campaign online and when I get some time off to look into it that will probably be my only way to play for the foreseeable future.

>>31Man, that's a lot of suck.
I've had previous issues trying to play a campaign online. It starts out with good ideas and intentions, but they've fallen apart pretty quick. Maybe the group I've tried it with have just been using the wrong resources.
