Requirements of a growing medium:
Carbon, Oxygen & Hydrogen - air/free draining medium/water
Macro minerals:
Nitrogen - composted protein/greens/vegetables etc.
Phosphorus - rock phosphate/compost
Potassium - wood ash/compost
Magnesium - chalk/egg shell/compost
Calcium - chalk/egg shell/compost
Sulphur - sulphate rock/compost
Micro minerals:
Iron, Manganese, Boron, Copper, Zinc, Molybdenum - small quantity compost or rich earth
