I'm not, because there comes a time where they run out of shit to change or introduce and end up breaking the game to get a quick buck (I'm looking at you, CK2 and Conclave).
I'm not gonna pay for Stellaris either, I've had enough of this Swebrew bullshit, but it's about the principle.
You just know that down the line, the morons at Paradox will patch the game taking only multiplayer balance into account, screwing over the great majority of their userbase; also, they will take years to fix simple but serious bugs like the CK2 antipope bullshit that took forever to get patched, and if you want to get fixes to these things you'll have to cope with the "free features" that often break even more shit. Sometimes they'll even decide to patch away a valid strategy because some retard over at Parajew got salty during one of their multiplayer games, meaning they'll break shit intentionally so nobody can have fun.
And I'm not even considering the DLC-fest their games have turned into either, every other DLC they release breaks the game, so the game is near unplayable for about a month, and wouldn't you know, just when they finally finish patching up all the fucking crap they broke, it's time for another DLC that will break yet more shit.
If we consider neo-Paradox's track record, it'll be fucking amazing if Stellaris doesn't blow. CK2 had a decent period but is now shit (status of women laws in the dark and early middle ages are the least of the shit they pulled with that game), EUIV was always shit and I don't actually have much hope for HoI4. Since Stellaris is sci-fi, it's likely to appeal to a wider audience and I'm willing to bet many shekels that the game will be even more shallow and rigid than EUIV.
Paradox just doesn't give a shit about their loyal userbase. All they care about are dimwits who would never play a GSG if it were the only genre left on Earth. Maybe they'll try to make HoI6 an e-sport or something.
