I'm having a problem with CK2. The game is unable to save at all. No matter what I try or how I try it, the game either crashes or no new save appears.
When I try to save it normally, no new save file appears. When I try to overwrite something, the old file remains unchanged. Quicksave doesn't work either, no new save appears, and autosaving crashes the game every time.
Is there a workaround to this? This happened to me before, but I didn't really do anything about it. I'm quite far into a game right now and I'd hate to see it go to waste.

I've been playing MEIOU and it seems fine for the most part. Although, blockades are silly (they take effect almost immediately, and last well beyond the end of the war; not sure if that's vanilla or not) and it's very easy to get into an infamy/stability death spiral with certain countries (Muscovy/early Russia especially, occupy nomad provinces to stop their "40000 men in the middle of Siberia every 5 years" shit, border more nomads, annex so much territory your infamy is sky high, overextended because you can't grab the rest of your cores from the big purple blob, get a shitty ruler, and then -1 stability event every 2 or 3 months from being above infamy limit).
On the topic of EU3, how much of this is hardcoded and how much is moddable?
