Hey, I know that some of you like to listen to Dan Carlin's hardcore history - I noticed that, by seeing some of his podcasts in the Meaupload archive, under /gsg/ related stuff. But - not all of them are there, and they're awesome. So, here you go, all the DC HH podcasts, that are not available for free on Dancarlin.com right now. (I found Dan through this archive, so am just doing my duty to share.) They're on a Latvian server right now, so the people responsible should move them to Megaupload, if possible.

HOWEVER - I seriously would recommend sending a buck or two (or ten) to Dan - so that he can keep making these and his other show Common Sense, which is BY FAR the best political podcast out there. Go listen to that as well.

And if you haven't heard Hardcore History - do so. It is awesome.

And if you do listen to it already, I'd also recommend Mike Duncan's History of Rome and Revolutions, and Robert Pierce's The History of Byzantium. I'm sure y'all know how to google, so no links here.

Sharing is caring. Blob hard, and never look back.

Just thought it needed to be mentioned: Last episode on the archive is Prophets of Doom, and the extras aren't included.

That's pretty cool of you, but I really need to finish my history of more podcast and that lecture series I'm watching from yale about medieval Europe first.

>Finish every Hardcore History that's been released and every Common Sense available for free
>Dish out the $15 for 15 episodes of Common Sense from '06-'07
>Episode starts with Dan yelling about fat cats and generally talking like he's some Coughlinesque demagogue

No, this is Dan Carlin. This is what your school history should have been. I.E. Pure, intellectual awesomeness, telling a story, and not afraid of the grey areas and the deep questions. If not convinced, google some Hardcore History reviews. I dare you to find a bad one.

Haven't heard his old Common Sense shows. Well, maybe he's just gotten better over time.

 No.2947

I think he's still in radio mode in these old ones, that and he's just gotten older. I'm not sure if I'd call them worse, but they certainly have an odd tone.
Here's the earliest episode available on his site as an example.

it's a bit inaccurate on what happened with the eastern front of WWII.

I think it's because of his blatant trust of Soviet sources - but that's what all the western authors do. Want to know the truth - read Victor Suvorov. (I know, I was born in the USSR, dude)

 No.2960

>>2952
distrust, you mean? Yeah I know of suvorov but even then its not exactly hard proof that he was right. Also, I would question why the soviet government would lie to itself given the NKVD was pretty pragmatic about these sorts of things.

 No.2963

>>2960
Simple - because starting with the 1953's, to get into the high ranks of the politbureau, you had to damn stalin to extinction. And the soviets lied to their population for propaganda purposes constantly, just to keep everyone in check. When needed, we were gloriously spreading communism abroad, and, when needed - we had NEVER waged any aggressive wars, but were the keepers of peace. Now, I'm sure Suvorov makes mistakes about some details here and there, but, as I was born in the USSR, what he says, combined with what he gives as proof, has a very high probability of being the truth.

 No.4098

Holy crap, Latvianbro here (not on my pc, forgot the pasword) - that site where I hosted the history podcasts, only holds the files for 30 days. I never expected anyone to care about this after a month or so. Will upload again. Otherwise, epic threadcromancy.
