 No.3179

I'm pretty new to GS in general, and I've noticed something weird in my ck2 game. With gavelkind succesion, my children inherit titles that I don't have. Is this supposed to happen? How do I play around this?

 No.3201

Well, they'll create titular titles in some cases, I believe. Gavelkind is a clusterfuck. Your first child should inherit your main title atleast.

 No.3228

It's because your government is still Tribal. If you hold too many lands outside your initial de jure kingdom, vassals will break off, and your children will split up the realm, creating equal-tier titles divided up by each base de jure region.

Once you reform from Tribal to Feudal, that problem will go away (unless you exceed your vassal limit) There are a few ways to game the system, but for the most part, if you try to focus on keeping your holdings in your primary title built up, and worry about secondary kingdoms/expansion later, you should be fine.
