Is it possible for USA to ever join axis if you are playing as it? I'm playing on custom game, hoping that I would get some alternate history, but everything is EA leveled scripted.Japan goes to war and I lend them 100IC and we have a good relationship

Japan goes to war and I lend them 100IC and we have a good relationship. Germany goes to war and I lend them 400IC and we build up a good relationship as well. I have been aligning to their faction since day 1 and it is impossible since it slows down to a halt when you get close and it automatically turns around back towards allies. I try changing what party is in power by raising dissent and for over a year I have 40 dissent and it only goes from democrat to republican. i go on another 2 years of 40 dissent and the dumbass voters just hop on back to democrat.

I have over 100 relationship with japan and germany and then all of the sudden the relationship drops down for no reason what so ever and these pop ups come up, forcing me to lower my relationship with japan. My relationship with japan is still over 50 and then they declare war on me for no reason. (My threat to them was .02% and their neutrality was at 15%. Declaring war should have been impossible).

So I was far closer to axis in diplomacy than I was to allies and the fucking game automatically put me with the allies without my permission to do so (Japan declared a limited war). I am still friends with germany and it looks like I will have to go against them in the future because of this idiot game.

My game was going perfect before the game ruined it for me by forcing me to join a faction I didn't want.

Also why aren't I the one who convoys out IC? Why must germany do it? That is fucking retarded to make the person at war responsible for the convoy, it will only get easily sunk by the british. If I were to convoy it, the british couldn't do shit.

Did you really expect more from Paradox? I'm fairly certain the only way to get the USA to join the Axis is to have the Axis members actively subverting US politics and aligning them toward the Axis. While a human Axis nation can pull that off, I'm fairly certain the AI never will. Bravo Johan.

This is why I've never liked HoI3, it's far too scripted. The fun part about grand strat games has always been making history go full retard, not re-enacting history along a very narrow path of almost certain possibilities.

Yeah I was looking to mod the game and I noticed how insanely scripted it is when I was rummaging through the notepad files.
