Is this game worth playing /gsg/?

Have anyone played it?

 No.3910

it's really not worth it.

the provinces (although not like paradox provinces) are based on political provinces irl. so there's a million different provinces in France, but only England, Wales, Scotland in the UK

What about other things?

Is it fun? Is it complex? Can you research tech?

 No.3914

>>3911

It is complex, and it can be fun, although not for very long, honestly. Tech is in the game, but it's only military, so you're technologically stuck in 2001 for eternity. The biggest thing that puts me off personally is the fact that you cannot release nations at all. Want to set up a puppet state or balkanize a rival? Too bad. You can only annex shit and once you annex a country entirely, there is no way for it to be brought back.

 No.3917

never heard of this game

looks like masters of the world 3. is it like that?

 No.3957

I've played it and have had a lot of fun with it

However it does have a lot of flaws, and there are much better options out there

 No.3988

I have it, it is quite fun in mutliplayer is also quite complex. However, as pointed by >>3914 it has a lot of flaws. Though some mods fix these issues, like setting the tax and interest rate to 100% -> you just fixed the economy -> Vatican City can buy every military equipment from the world and take over Europe -> More Money

 No.4009

>>3914

Superpower 1 allowed you to do that. IIRC.

It was just really not clear on how things worked in that game, like trade's affect on your economy and money.

Also, AI in SP2 was really fucking retarded. If you tried to just attack Jordan as Israel (or any other mid-east nation for that mater.) even if they were the aggressor, the whole world wants to buttfuck you right away, regardless of the diplomatic terms each nation was on. (Jordan was regarded about the same as NK in the game I played when I attacked them.)

Additionally, it's military system really doesn't seem to take vast, overwhelming numbers into account, seeing as how my 100 Future hovertanks could hold the line unsupported against 3500 T-70s supported by 90's era AT infantry divisions that had SU-25 air support.

 No.4088

It's fun I guess, I mean, I'm poor as fuck and I pirated it resulting in me playing the somewhat-buggy version. But it seems like the mods fix that.
