 No.181

So I found this photo on Wiki earlier. It's an E-4 command-and-control aircraft undergoing EMP simulation testing. The antenna looks like some sort of cage dipole to me, but I wanted to get a second opinion: What is it? What sort of bandwidth does it have to have in order to be useful for simulating a (presumably broadband) EMP?

 No.182

I agree with it being a cage dipole.
Not sure if it needs to be tuned, just really long to induce those charges in the plane.
I don't actually know much about EMP blasts. I'll post a schematic for an EMP generator tomorrow.

I do not think you are looking at an antenna in this photo.

the arching structure with the package in the center is a faraday shield for the control cabling you see going to the photo right.

and the package is…

if you wanna start talking EMP you need to get into the right mode to play with the big boys.
the original manmade EMP device is the nuclear explosion.
since we don't want all that fuss and mess and we want something smaller that will just take out all electronics in a block radius how about we use something like
>pic related.

that's right anon you want an EPFCG
whatever handheld battery powered EMP generator schematic >>182 has in mind all it will be capable of is jamming / temporary disruption and not actual burnt-out non-usable wholesale destruction of electronic devices that is desired.

the effects of a magnetic field embedded in a plasma that is changing size can have some interesting phenomena attached when the size changes are rapid.
