What's the difference between the General class license, and Amateur Extra License?

Which one should I get,and what is some good study material?

 No.307

Extra gets a few more frequency bands on HF, and can also use higher-bandwidth modes like SSTV on HF, as I recall. Plus you get granted a shorter call if you put in for it on your license application.

Extra is significantly harder than general, which is why most don't take it. Question pools are posted online, don't know what the current best study material is.

The tests aren't that bad - it is quite possible to just grind the practice tests until you memorize the answers.

(Got my general this way - currently waiting for the FCC site to update so I can go on the air)

They test a lot of shit that people are going to just google in real life.
