I used truecrypt but I wasn't referring to security risks, but no security is perfect. You can have a hidden computer and locked files but they are still there, and the more you have the more you worry about keeping it hidden and the more it will fuck you in the ass if its found.
Its not a good feeling to be constantly aware of where your encrypted usb stick is hidden or whether its ok to leave your computer simply locked and keeping your mind on your computers kill switch in case someone knocks in your door.
On top of all that like I said, it wont be enough, it never is, just read the story's of others on frost, soon you'll find yourself being nicer to girls around you, thinking about striking up a relationship with them, but that shit never works, and just leads to frustration, that can be very bad road indeed, and if it does work, even worse now your life depends on the discretion of a child, its a lose, lose.
I walked away before it bit me in the ass, who knows maybe someday it still will somehow, I still poke my head in here so sometimes so thats a problem still.

Frost is sketchy as fuck, and it's very inactive.
Pretty much every message is 'where can i get cp', 'someone give me cp'.
I deleted that shit and 35-pass wiped it clean. I don't know just how safe Freenet is though. I mean, your ISP knows you're using Freenet, and FBI/NSA knows Freenet is mostly CP, so you're instantly a target and will probably be monitored. There's also only like 5,000 users on the planet who even use freenet, which makes you stand out even more.
If you live in state like Utah or Neveda..then you're probably going to be the only fucking person in that entire state who is using it.
If they decided to traffic analyze your usage, then it'd be pretty easy to tell what you're doing. anyway just my 2 cents

> A correlation attack essentially is of the form "Peer A is doing a group of requests. I recognize that the splitfile he is fetching is X, and that he is fetching exactly 25% of it from me (and I know he has four peers). Therefore, it is probably a local request for that splitfile"
> In any case the bottom line is if you fetch, or insert, a large splitfile, and your darknet peers (your supposedly trusted neighbours) do some statistical attacks, they can identify that the request is probably from you. This could be very bad!
> Of course, you have to get a connection to the target in order to do this. On a small opennet (the current situation, sadly), this is easy:

Well-reasoned caution. Government-funded works on Freenet deanonymization have been known since 2012. Some bugs were fixed but not much changed in general. If you transfer a lot of known (public) data, your peers can find it out. That's what the >>63244 message is about. One Freenet data block is 32 KB and has a certain probability of coming from you or other peer. Transfer of 32 MB file generates more than a thousand requests your peers can use to connect the dots. You can only guess if requirement to use heavy math to actually prove stuff in courts or some other reason prevents LEA from raiding users.
So, no, Freenet alone is not enough. Full disk encryption, intrusion detection with autonomous power, secure system completely detached from your personal system (on some server bought with Bitcoins and accessed through Tor, for example) should be considered.
However, you are wrong about lack of content.

No, Freenet doesn't work like that and there is no intra-network tunnels. All of that is explained in documentation.

>Court records reveal the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been running an undercover operation on the peer-to-peer network Freenet since 2011, which gives users access to what is called the Dark Web, where it is difficult to track Freenet users' movements online and is popular with lawbreakers, including child pornography users.
>The undercover operation resulted in the arrest of former UND police officer Paul Bradley Meagher, 42, who prosecutors say had more than 100,000 images and videos of child porn on his computers, according to court papers.
>Essentially, the BCI planted its own computers within the Freenet network, according to an affidavit written by BCI Agent Jesse Smith. Their computers kept logs of certain Freenet users' IP addresses and the codes for what they were downloading, according to the affidavit. Agents then compared the codes with a database they built of codes known to be child porn.
>The difficulty lies with telling who ultimately downloaded the child porn because Freenet routes traffic through multiple computers on the Freenet network.
>But BCI investigators were able to devise a way to tell which IP address–and consequently, which Freenet user–ultimately was downloading the offending files.

Freenet verifies hash of every transferred block, encrypts and decrypts every peer connection, it takes about 1 full CPU core and shouldn't be a problem unless you have an Atom/Celeron instead of a processor. Lack of decent connection (both ways) limits it the most, it's better to have at least 100-200 KB/s available.
300 MB file might be downloaded in less than an hour if enough blocks are available.
