It would have been awesome to have reused assets/characters for a different story and plot/genre like harem or something. The Only version came close, but no dice. The artbooks kinda made up for it, but not entirely/really.
It's main draw is the style and quality, without that, it's an utter piece of crap just like the game it's based off of. But the 'Cultists' man, they just love eating that shit up.
And in actuality, BB isn't the first one to use those artists or that style, there were a few and 5+ that use the same artists/style in other Hentai(recently even, mines the Mosaic STD). The only one I remember off the top of my head(which actually predates BB by a year or two, if I remember correctly) is Lingerie Office Affairs. Again, that one comes close to being good, but still no dice. <rant> They are missing components and stuff to make it great, but hey, limited japan mindset/scope when it comes to projects and the like. I mean, if you have a really good Japanese staff/chemistry, you get undeniable blockbusters but, most of the time it's trial and error plus a lot of luck hoping that they 'get it' when it comes to success. The problem lies in the fact that most of the time, they don't give it their all or are blocked by time constraints. There are some though that think of everything and go all out and man it shows, but I digress.</rant>
Point being, if your into Futa and the occult just for the sake of it, it's the grail. If not, it's probably not for you. I ain't into either, but I like the style and even went as far as created a frame by frame time skip log so I can skip all the nasty futa Jazz. It's not even written well and has inconsistencies, especially the last set(full of self serving plot devices and duex exes). The only set that was solid/consistent was the 2nd set(dam, I forgot. . . I think it was either origins or revelations; the ones after the first six but before the last six; it's been a while.) It was overhypped, and people believed(some actually still believe) it was actually the best thing around, quality wise at the time. Not true though, there were a few that outclassed it in many areas.

Yeah, but is straw. And some modern Hentai that I know(knew'?') of would beat the shiz out of BB, if it weren't for the Censors holding it back. One of which, guess what? Was made by the same artists/style as BB.
1. There were a lot of shit tier Hentai's back in the day cause some companies wanted that Hentai Money and didn't care about quality, common practice over there for other things.
2. That's cause of reasons. The Web2.0 killed alot of nice things that we can't have anymore. We can't say it, cause it's being held back. Wait if it ever becomes unleashed like some managed too. Also, Lurk More.
3. Not really, just centric ones involving cliche school Anime and Futa, lots of Futa. No Lesbian/Yuri. Seriously, not even one. (Futa /= Lesbian). BB only kinda doesn't count, and even if it did, it was still school centric.
4. It was a forced storyline. It was inconsistent, I Know cause I wrote notes on it when I watched it all back in the day and posted it on a now non existent site. Still have the notes somewhere. 3 Ovas? Lurk More. Some have as much as 20.
5. There was no Visual Novel, there were 2 Artbooks which had much ref material to teach users how to draw in that style, but alas, I have yet to come across any lewd fan works that utilize said style or characters, even to this day. Except, maybe Tenzen but that wasn't lewd enough to count. However, I may believe you if you can find my the fabled Picture Disc that contains the Ref sheets for the two characters and Crowley that suddenly appear out of nowhere for reasons of duex ex machina in the last episodes. I believe that's the only thing I don't have from the series, and I am not even sure if it even exists although evidence shows that it may.
*sigh* I used to be all about this kind of stuff but never had an audience so I guess I forgot most of the titles and stuff. I really need to get back to that so I can tell ya'll about the good stuff. But, My system is wonkey, and I'm preoccupied with other things and there's a lot of work to be done just to get to that point to where I can pic up on my research again.
