Lore wise those symbols only really ever show up when a character is doing something that would require it's powers. In the game Katsuma (the protagonist) has a low power/symbol that has no moon. He gets these powers from making the executives climax on him. The executives all have half moon, and only in one eye. The Queen has full moon double moons, the power of double moon is so strong that it allows her to manipulate the appearance of her age. Also she's like a thousand years old too if I recall. Anyways those textures are just there for fun.

Okay so I feel like a faggot for posting here and asking for help but I'm at my wits end. In my defence, I've read through ALL of the pastebins, ALL of the FAQs, ALL of the wikis, and have scoured google for the past three days, and nothing has helped.
So I installed AA2 last fall and very much enjoyed it. I used the HF no-install prepatched version and everything worked swimmingly. I set up a shortcut to run AA2play with applocale, etc etc.
Then my laptop autoupdated from windows 8 to 8.1. Along with bullshit like my display drivers being incompatible so my brightness was stuck at minimum, all of my AA2 shortcuts were gone (AA2play, AA2 editor). I shrugged and just went into my folder and tried running the exe with applocale, but it wouldn't work. Eventually I gave up, but a few days ago I decided to try again. I went through the setup process again, and ran into a few bumps along the road; messed up text, so I found out I had to actually reinstall applocale; unplayably slow, so I had to reupgrade my drivers to the most recent ones, breaking my brightness again in the process.
The last major issue was a C++ visual library runtime error with AA2play, so I had to run AA2play English with applocale. This seemed like it was perfect. The game was running just as I remembered it: full speed, un-shittified graphics, perfect text. However, every time the scene right before an H-scene began would end (that is, when a girl says something like "okay, its obvious what you want" then you click and H is started), the game stops and I get pic related
During my searching I mentioned, I found a post that said that sometimes having other programs can cause it to crash. So I closed everything else, restarted my computer, and tried running the game again. Still no dice, and in addition to that, applocale doesn't seem to work on either AA2play or AA2play English anymore, as I get the messed up text with u's and v's.
I can live with the text, as its still perfectly understandable, but I just want to be able to play the game properly and spend quality time with the waifu again. Can anybody help a fellow erogamer out?

When I'm using ReiEdit, if I scroll far enough down the Advanced tab (where you hit System.Int32 compatability sliders) the program crashes, giving me a pretty long error message.

It'll easily go 60 FPS in conversations, even with a weak processor. It's just the sex scenes that are below 60 without high single core performance. Also, some graphics cards like 750Ti perform worse than you'd expect in the game.

I don't know if there's a better fix because I just installed it about a week ago and I already have over 36 hours in this shit, it's addicting, but install hexaoc and the hair pack if you haven't as well as the eye and highlight textures since I take it you're downloading cards from the database. If it still crashes, then just try all the cards one by one until you hit the one that crashes and then delete it. And if installing the mods causes the game to crash on startup for you, then close out of everything and start the game. I reinstalled the game five or six times until I just tried that.
