I'm going to be an asshole and bitch about the third game because I bought it a while back.
The new dungeon maps are too damn big- they're large expanses of nothing for no real benefit. If you bother exploring them you'll just end up overleveling yourself; it was the only Raidy game I ended up reading a walkthrough for out of sheer frustration.
The fusion mechanic is fun but makes no real difference in combat (because you're overleveled) and makes it tedious to see all the losing combinations, since you have to reload and slog your way back to the door with each fusion pair to see the different CG.
Storywise, Raidy's characterization changes (for some stupid reason I care about this). In the original PC-98 games Raidy was wandering around to find an explanation for her lightning power. In the remakes, she's still doing this, but it's all superseded by her chasing after her brainless boyfriend who has wind powers and is trying to be a hero of justice. I wouldn't mind this too much except Raidy does not stop fucking whining about this guy. Not only that, in the end he deals the killing blow, saves Raidy, then runs off again without even waiting for her to wake up. All this after she busts her ass breaking him out of his hypnosis. And her only response is to go chasing after him again. It felt out-of-character compared to the last two games, for either the originals or the remakes.
Anyway I hope this new one is good, downloading the demo now.

Story-wise, the emperor of the Eastern country of Kuuchaa [苦家] has established a one-child policy to control population growth. Since only boys can pass on the family lineage, girls are often exiled or sold from their houses as families keep trying until they get a boy. Some of the abandoned women formed their own group, the MeiKuuchaaRen [美苦家人] ("People of Beautiful Kuuchaa"?), to survive; they received assistance from Shaolin temples in training and self-defense. Of course, there is a dark underside to all this.
Raidy and the trio end up in the city of Kukuryuce [ククリュス], an independent city-state situated next to an oasis in the Horazum Desert, famous for its trading, gambling, and being a good spot to gather a kind of energy ("dragon's pulse" [龍脈] energy? Eruje said it's useful stuff). Raidy says she's got money so they're in good spirits as they wander around.
Foress gets captured and separated from the group. Surprisingly, her captors work for the ruler of Kukuryuce, Meilin. Meilin begs Foress to rescue her older sister, who has been kidnapped by the MeiKuuchaRen. For a yet-unexplained reason the group fears spirits, so after Meilin heard rumors of Foress's ability to use spirit magic, she sought Foress specifically. After being offered serious cash (and feeling a little bad for them) Foress agrees to do it.

From the CG screen, it looks like it is about the same amount of content as Raidy 1. 5 or 6 floors, with a victory sex and a Bad Ending per floor.

I hated it. I think the writing was pretty funny at the beginning when it was just Raidy playing tsukkomi to the other three, but everything else is atrocious. And even the fusion stuff stops about halfway through the game. Like, it was the main gimmick of the game and then halfway through they just said "okay no more of this".
Levels are huge, uneventful, confusing, and boring, there's way less bosses (and very little variance in loss scenes based on form aside from which girl gets it along with Raidy), the amount of yuri is even lower than the second game, and some of the game overs are just horrifying, a few of which end with Raidy dying or her mind just shutting down entirely.
Plus with that idiot boyfriend of hers around they get to add NTR into a bunch of the later scenes. What should have been an awesome yuridom scene later in the game with one of the major female villains turned into some bullshit where the boss makes Raidy's hypnotized boyfriend rape her.
The game itself was unbelievable lazy too. They took the same UI from Raidy 2 and just copied it, so there's literally some obsolete parts of the interface, and new things aren't represented in the UI at all (enemies now drop materials and other unusable items, but there's literally no menu or anything to see what you have, you just have to go back to Erouge and she just takes them all and gives you stuff for them, but fuck off if you want to know what materials give you which or how many of each item).
