I realize that this might not be the best place to bring this up, but I'm considering becoming an indie game developer, and I'm thinking of making something like this for my first game. I've never made a game before, though.

Pressing on:

>making her look like you just caught her with her pants down. Figuratively.

There's no potential ambiguity between a literal/figurative meaning, so the joke doesn't really work.

>I would allow such not to present itself an issue

"Such" doesn't work here (unless that's an archaic usage that you're sure of). You don't mention a quality or anything like that to justify it.

>to perish a mere arrow's shot from salvation…

Arrows shoot farther than that.

>seems like she's beating herself over that mistake

Missing an "up".

>if her sensitivity really is that bad.

>\"<i>It may.</i>\"

I feel like I'm asking this too much, but is this an anachronism? In addition to the fact that it's wrong in modern English, I don't think "may" quite fits, since she definitely knows the answer herself (although I think I vaguely remember some regional differences with the uses of "may"/"can")

>if is undead, in case that ever gets written and implemented

Well how do you feel about ghost PCs?

>stroking lightly across a pair of knitting pins with one hand

"Stroke" is transitive (so no "across").

>artefact

An oldie but a goodie. I can't remember, were you actually fixing these, or is that to be a find/replace?

>you follow up by asking what would happen if she would freeze completely

Seems like a weird thing to ask, so I don't think you should force the PC to do so in the middle of a different topic.

>her eyes a brief flash of icy ire.

Her eyes can't be brief (unless, for instance, they faded from view or something). That should probably be an adverb/adverbial phrase of some description.

>Is't

A quick one, aren't you.

>to do something else than sew clothes for other people.

You might remember this one from days past, but that "else" should be an "other". I looked into it, and it seems like this actually used to be a lot more acceptable/common, but the ngram shows an almost unilateral preference for "other".

>Well, [i:young] girl.

You should use an "a" (both in general, and to match the one earlier).

>natheless

I hope you know I read this in the most thick, fake, foul Cockney accent possible.

>Well, I was a, ah… an impertinent brat, I realize that now, and I am certainly not proud of my behavior, but Father indulged me still.

I'll note that this sentence feels a lot closer to the previous voice you were going for. Normally I wouldn't mention it, but I figured you'd jump at the opportunity to make it less readable.

>the manner they are plucked and thrummed so leisurely

I'm fairly sure you're missing something like an "in which" to connect "manner" to the rest of the sentence.

>; and that, you ask aloud

Make that semicolon a comma, and you could consider removing the comma, but you won't, you won't even consider it, you fucker.

>Uhm, 'concert harps', I believe.

I should probably retire that joke, but it's enough that I still laughed reading this. I don't know why you don't include the champion lamenting their poor, impoverished peasant childhood in response.

>Besides a great price and size

You might consider making that "a" into a "their" ("a" can work if you have another later on, e.g., "besides an X, they also have a Y", but it's not great here).

>wondrous, witnessing the, ah, wonders

repetition

>lady time

Capitalize?

>a smile does suit her much better than that perpetual frown.

But her frown isn't perpetual, given that she doesn't do it much/constantly

>Marielle has now turned to scanning her surroundings, from the boxes of unused cloth on the ground, over the various utensils on her desk, to the broken statuettes inside the temple, carefully avoiding the stash of anime paraphernalia in her tent.

Her talks are definitely my favorite part, so it's nice to go back through them. Sorry that like half of these weren't real notes; the list shrunk considerably when I realized that a lot of them were just due to anachronisms.

 No.361282

>>361236

>Acquisition aside, surely something can be done it with, I'd think.

You're projecting a bit there, though the second person version would work well.

Other than those, it reads pretty well, thanks.

>Arrows shoot farther than that.

Not if you want them to be accurate.

>is this an anachronism? In addition to the fact that it's wrong in modern English, I don't think "may" quite fits

She's merely omitting a "be", that's all, nothing groundbreaking. And "may" may express possibility, permission, as well as ability, the last of which I think does fit and makes it indeed largely synonymous with "can", though Merriam tells me that usage is archaic.

>Well how do you feel about ghost PCs?

The ghost tf is lacklustre and has little to show but some spooky legs. Can that even be counted as "undead"? It looks more like a cosmetic and slightly magical change, nothing more.

>I can't remember, were you actually fixing these, or is that to be a find/replace?

It may be whatever you wish, as I appear to be overruled. It's your axe to swing though, wretched headsman.

>Seems like a weird thing to ask

Does it? She mentions briefly "fearing not the cold" before, and you're on the topic of immortality. I guess I'll reword it into a proper train of thought.

>Her eyes can't be brief

It's perhaps a bit too metaphorical/poetic, but is it really that far out?

>it seems like this actually used to be a lot more acceptable/common

Guess I'm born a century to late.

>I hope you know I read this in the most thick, fake, foul Cockney accent possible.

You're a terrible, proper cunt.

>I figured you'd jump at the opportunity to make it less readable.

Believe me, I tried, but this one seems vexingly immune to my attempts. I think it's mainly because "brat", while being half a millennium old, sounds far more modern than it is, and I can't think of any other good replacement.

>I'm fairly sure you're missing something like an "in which" to connect "manner" to the rest of the sentence.

I might put that under the eldened and seemingly random omission of prepositions.

>you won't even consider it, you fucker.

Don't slander me, you little shit. I spend at least a half-second bethinking each and every obnoxious drivel of yours before discarding it.

>I don't know why you don't include the champion lamenting their poor, impoverished peasant childhood in response.

That one comes at a later point.

>repetition

That's on purpose, though I admit it's far from the greatest wordplay. If you know a good word for either "wondrous" or "wonders" beginning with an "n", tell me. Otherwise, I'll scour for one at a later date.

>Capitalize?

Whoops. On that note, would you capitalise other personified concepts, or leave them lower case? The following "fate" is one example, and she has a few more.

As I stated, it wasn't exactly a gargantuan task, but under the pretense that the terms arm and wing are now used interchangeably. The biggest 'change' is on the harpy description itself, since I added a few other details such as the nails or the tail feathers to fit with other scenes that already existed; most others are otherwise just slight word alterations which remove the distinction between wing and arm where applicable or if the shoulder mounted wings are mentioned as a separate entity. As I stated before, almost all the passages for the Harpies were already written with a Harpy in mind and not whatever these >>361124 kind of people think a fucking Harpy looks like so it's not too abraisive at all with what we've got.

As for the player transformation, the Harpy arms were focused on the downing that covered the outside, whereas the wings were focused on the feathers that formed the wings protruding. That way the abilities aspect of the transformation stayed the same and both could reasonably exist independant of each other.

Going off what the wiki says exists, I couldn't find the Chicken Harpy or the 'Cockgobbler' Harpy but otherwise everything else makes sense upon reading through.

And I'll note as an >inb4 that I'm intending for the terms 'arm' and 'wing' to be used interchangably, since it's logical that they would be under the current design. It's for no reason others (>>361097 >>361155) thought the design I've changed it to already was the case throughout the mod - the second set of wings really isn't referred to all that much at all and the harpy arms are already referred to as heavily feathered anyways. I'd imagine the lionshare (if there are indeed 100) would be playertransformation scenes.

Though, if you do catch me out 100 times I'll be a man of my word and change all 100 indeed. Wouldn't want to come across as running my mouth.

 No.361350

>>361338

Every time you post, it gets harder to imagine you don't have brain damage. You've made it the biggest chore possible to look at your changes (seriously, why did this make sense to you as the way you should share your work?) and the fact that you edited entire files directly means that your dumb needless fuckups like

>if (player.wings.type == Wings.FEATHERED_LARGE) outputTepackage classes.Scenes.NPCs

would need to be fixed by someone else. Also, your solution for the player wings is to just ignore them in the rest of the game, making them another pointless, broken transformation, but even worse than stuff like nagas and taurs, since those are at least occasionally accounted for (there wasn't even an [arms] parser until very recently, and most of the game assumes you have the basic human arm shape). Also, you even directly admit that you weren't able to find everything (but in addition to the ones you mention, you didn't touch HarpyScene.as, which I can't imagine is right). Also, the few snippets of writing I did bother to find had errors, but again, the way you've done this makes it extremely annoying to find all your changes. Also, still waiting on that PR.

 No.361352

>I'll be a man of my word and change all 100 indeed

Look mate, I'm trying to be patient, I'm trying to wait for you to give me the place where I'm fucking up, but if every single fucking time I post, your summation is essentially 'you are wrong, [Insult pertaining to stupidity], this is a massive undertaking man', but right now the only point you've essentially put across is the arms parser; which as I hope I've been pretty consistant throughout, wouldn't need to be changed from what was already in the transformation from the getgo.

I'm not seeking to revamp the entire game because Fen was a retard and never gave the arms or wings meaning in the first place, I'm looking to fix the few minor things which were concpetually fucked in the shitheap we have now and leave the rest of the this the exact same way I found it.

I'm trying to be workable here, but if your sage summary is 'gee man, I've got 100 fuckups on your end in this backlog, but…ahhh I mean I can't even give you one example now'. I'm trying to be easy to work with an agreeable, but good fucking god does it feel like I'm talking to a brick wall here.

The initial ask was for the Harpy description. So I change that.

Then the 'massive undertaking' was to change the all Harpy and Player scenes >>361005 as well as a few others listed. So I change every single one of those, to allow for Occams Razor to carry it the rest of the way, and check all my changes over with a spellcheck and a fresh-eyes read to ensure it doesn't cause anybody too much work. On top, I explain my thought processes so people don't get confused with intentions.

But now you're implying that I'm trying to remove their arms? And that I'm incorrect to the tune of 100 passages? (of which you haven't given a single example as of yet to make sure you're on the same track as me, and have immediately set yourself for an even larger task, in which it would even more frustrating for you if we aren't). An also every change that I've made it a 'huge chore' to look at the changes (without stating how you want them formatted). And on top you're stating shit which I've already clarified so people wouldn't have to state it (ie implying I'm trying to remove arms)

I'll make my stance explaicitly clear (as if I already haven't). I'm not seeking to shift the entire trashheap of a basegame into something workable, you'd need a community of dedicated autists and years of work for that to even take form. I'm not trying to overhaul the entire system. I'm in effect fixing a fucking typo, yet it's being treated like I've decided to bring forth a new era of writing for bird girls. Nothing needs to change on the arms parser, because it's in effect the exact same way as it was before, with the exact same functionality as human arms. It's not my issue that Fen was a fucking retard and didn't have any transformations mean shit. I'm not looking to fix that, I'm fixing a basic incorrect description so I can get on back to spriting a harpy. And if you want your ebin 'PR', it'd be nice if you clarified what the fuck you want without sounding like an entitled cunt.

I get people call me 'aggressive' or 'have a tamper', but when I'm dealing with vague shit like this where you won't even clarify what you think is wrong in the most abraisive fucking manner possible how the fuck am I not supposed to be? I'm not asking for a fucking hugbox, just cut the fucking unnecessary insultive shit and just GET TO THE FUCKING POINT ALREADY GOD; let that be the insult. Hopefully me repeating myself on all my points twice in this post can FINALLY get across my FUCKING points. Now we wait for the post which says that I'm trying to remove their hands and give them fucking beaks or some shit.

I don't know about there being 100, but you HAVE missed some. One anon even gave you the name of the .as where some of them are. You can ask and wait for someone to post them all for you, but since YOU want to change it, YOU are the one who should be putting in that work. Why are you waiting for anyone else to do your work for you? Actually track down the scenes you KNOW you missed, look in the scene another anon was kind enough to point out you skipped, check other character's scenes that might interact with people with armwing/backwings and do what you said you were going too. Or keep asking anons who think that it's pointless to bother with it to do your work for you, I'm sure that'll work out to be super productive.

How far away from the temple was she? I'd thought she was pretty close, though looking back, I see that it's a bit vaguer than I had remembered.

>She's merely omitting a "be", that's all, nothing groundbreaking.

But can you do that in an answer like this where the rest of the sentence is already omitted? I'll just recommend that you be particularly sure that this is fine.

>It's perhaps a bit too metaphorical/poetic, but is it really that far out?

Don't let me stand in the way of your aut, but mine says that the metaphor doesn't precisely work.

>this one seems vexingly immune to my attempts

You could consider messing with the word order in "I am certainly not proud of my behavior" and/or using more archaic words for "proud"/"certainly". I think the "brat" is fine, it's more just the overall effect, to me.

>I might put that under the eldened and seemingly random omission of prepositions.

But the preposition and the relative pronoun? At that point, you're omitting the entire grammatical connection between the words.

>each and every obnoxious drivel

For future reference, I don't believe that's countable.

>If you know a good word for either "wondrous" or "wonders" beginning with an "n", tell me.

"Novel and noteworthy" came to mind, though that's not precisely the meaning you're asking for. "Aweful" would be a near rhyme, if you want to break your own rules. Can't think of anything else at this exact moment, though I'll note you could consider looking for assonance as well.

>On that note, would you capitalise other personified concepts, or leave them lower case?

I think you have a bit of leeway, depending on exactly how personified they are. "Fate" can just be a nebulous concept, or you can attribute it to an actual entity. The rule of thumb would be if you're using it as a name/title, then capitalize it.

>The following "fate" is one example

I had read "untimely" as an adjective modifying "fate", though I now realize that it could also be an adverb. In the latter case, it could make sense to capitalize "fate", if she means a literal god/person/figure/whatever. However, I might recommend against that, given that you already have the "Lady Time" in that sentence.

Have you not seen a single other submission in these threads? Ever? And even then you're better off making a PR if you're doing hundreds of little changes. If you can't think of why your "fixes" aren't received all that well, it's because nobody knows the code from the top of their head and can see what you changed without tediously comparing everything to how it is currently.

>I'm not trying to overhaul the entire system.

You are. Wings cannot be on arms. Arms and wings are two separate things in this game that don't support interchanging them. You willfully ignore this even though others have brought it up already.

Then stop acting like a dumb faggot and misinterpreting everything people tell you as a personal insult and ignoring the parts where people tell you what's wrong or how it is. Believe it or not, they exist.

People call you aggressive and having a temper because you continually fly off the handle for no real reason. These big walls of text are always full of assumptions, complaining about others, and generally very little at all. How often do you think people who frequent this thread and work on it act like you do? They don't get treated any differently than you, but they certainly don't go on huge autistic tirades.

>which as I hope I've been pretty consistant throughout, wouldn't need to be changed from what was already in the transformation from the getgo.

Sorry, to explain further, we have an [arms] parser now, but it's only used in a few newer scenes. It didn't exist for all of vanilla, so no vanilla scenes use it. In any case, the larger point was that arm wings won't make sense with every scene (in particular any in which your arms are bound).

>I'm trying to be easy to work with an agreeable

Buddy, you have never been either of those things. I've watched you get super cunty with various anonymous devs without any provocation, and as mentioned, the way you've done these edits is a bit of a hassle to work with.

>So I change every single one of those

No, you missed some of the ones in that list, by your own admission. You said you couldn't find the chicken harpy or the cockgobbler (who, as I learned last night, is absolutely awful).

>I'm in effect fixing a fucking typo

No, typos are objectively wrong, singular mistakes. This is a subjective preference with far-reaching consequences.

>I'm not seeking to shift the entire trashheap of a basegame into something workable, you'd need a community of dedicated autists and years of work for that to even take form.

I'm going to admit my failure on the "100 instances", I'm stopping at 50. The only way I could get 100 without spending a full day on nitpickily scouring the text is to individually count the same problem over and over again in multiple places, and that would be way too cheap, so I'll concede on the exact number of examples.

https://pastebin.com/cz7frbZ1

I think 50 still demonstrates my point though, especially when some of the things I only counted once would themselves in fact need to be fixed in tons of places.

If you want something more general, here are some common things to keep in mind:

>Fisting someone with your entire arm, or even just up to your elbow, isn't going to work properly with arm-wings in the way. At the very least, the wings need to be mentioned.

>The wings would get in the way of putting your arms in things in general.

>Clothes or armour with sleeves are out.

>Anything that completely wraps around your arms is a problem. It's not impossible in many cases, but the wings at least need a mention for it to work.

>Can't use your arms for other things while flying with arm-wings.

>Can't fly or otherwise use wings while arms are restrained.

>Wings are at your sides and not behind you.

Nah, 50 is great, it's 50 more I can comb through and work on than before and the common things are stuff I can stat to comb the normal encounters with (I get the 100 was making a point don't worry). Thanks a lot for that.

In future I'll probably format the changes as giving the original version, then the changed verison. As I keep on stating, writing isn't my forte, but the least I can do is make things easier for you and anyone else who's on quality control. It's definitely bigger in scope than I planned, but I'm a man of my word at the very least and I'll do as much as possible.

I'll dump the passages I've edited once I finish on this round of sprites, some are coming along swimmingly. I'll expand my scope a little bit just to catch the other feather wings while I'm at it (Minerva etc), and I'll do Lethice too since she's one of the first ones I thought needed a priority sprite. Pic related as a preview of Brigid; though most other sprites are still in initial sketching phase or are at base colour phase (so yes, I'm aware the shield and poker look iffy, and yes I'm aware her skull shape is a bit off and so on so forth)

I'll probably lurk until I get them done, although if the other spritefag wants to ask a few questions I'd love to give them a bit of feedback. They've got promise and are making some good shit, but they're falling into a few newbie pitfalls I used to when I was fresh-ish to spriting.

Hey, I'm not the only one who's been saying that transformations shouldn't just be pointless. This isn't as much of adding something brand new to the concept, as much as it is putting something that should have always been there back on. If you'd want to you could at the end provide the player with a choice of it being hot, never again with actual impregnation, hit her for it, or say whatever. That provides something most sex scenes don't at the end which is interaction for the player. I'm sure she'd be appreciative of imps birthed by her mistress as well, she could always use more fodder for her lair to use and abuse.

I don't know how you're not getting this (probably because a decent number of devs aren't namefags), but your changes are not welcome, in particular not until you solve the problem of player arm wings. The slight oddity of harpies having an extra pair of wings is not a big issue, so there is no reason to try to sloppily change it into what you prefer. You seem unable to go to the effort required to actually make it good, not to mention the fact that your writing skills are poor enough that it wouldn't be much of an improvement. Additionally, your coding competence seems poor enough that you have trouble finding easy examples (such as the chicken harpy), so I have no confidence that you'll be able to track down all the things you need to. >cry bully

Lets get this fucking clear right now. I don't give a shit about if people call me a triple nigger or say my work is shit. I'm pissed at the amount of fucking pussyfooting that goes on.

I don't give a shit about opinions, I want direct answers to direct questions. Big ask? I don't know, but what I do know is that if I got a decent post like >>361395 explaining as a response to >>361028 (not even the direct examples, just the greentext) basically every post in between would be null and void as I understood what the fuck the customer wants instead of people complaining at issues that weren't even outlined.

Likewise, if people don't want me to do something, I'd much prefer them to say 'hey can you not fucking do this retard' than dance around the fucking bush and try to convince me to not do it by going on about 'scope' or 'how much work its going to take'. Unless you haven't noticed by now, scope or work isn't a big thing to me, I've got time pouring out of my ass. I don't care about namefags, or quantity of (You)'s or the size of posts I'm going to have to respond to. I'd hoped that by now people would have at least started to realise that.

So now someone has outlined something different. See, beforehand, I was going off of the pretense that other people shared my opinions on this >>361097 >>361155 and saw it as an issue that needed fixing; but if people don't want me to do it, they can be as free as they fucking want to tell me I shouldn't. Since, up until now the only post that stated this shouldn't be done was the actual first post in the discussion with an insult and not just a meanie meanie sad sad direct answer >>361045 (unless you count my attack at the moron who designed the fucking things in the first place and stated this whole issue as the 'first insult', at which point it would only apply if that same moron from circa 2012 was around in this same thread right now)

I'm terribly sorry that this might increase somebodies workload later on, but at the end of the day all transformations are a bitch to deal with, that's the name of the game. I'm sure the entire game would be easier to deal with if there weren't transformations that had actual effects and impacts - or better yet, no transformations at all. Hell why even keep adding TF's, it might mean someone would have to account for them in 2023 when writing their new scene. There's no use entering a football pitch and complaing that there's a ball flying around at high speed. It's par of the course.

Now I'll reiterate. I'm happy to do the changes regardless of the scope and regardless of if I'm the best for the job- - since in my eyes somebody needs to do them. But if people don't want it to be done to I won't. Simple as.

I don't want a pussyfoot answer, just get to the fucking point already.

It's not "pussyfooting" if different anons are saying different things, and people have been saying from the start that you shouldn't do it unless you can do it right. I guess the only thing that wasn't made immediately clear is that the implication is that you can't do it right, and you've only proven that assumption correct in the time since. Again, if you can't even find the chicken harpy (hint: you can literally search "chicken harpy" in the repo, you mongoloid), why do you expect to be able to find everything that you need to? There's a number of works that already do that. It's usually as a joke, but not all of them are(even if it IS hard to take seriously even in serious works). Turns out when you have a fictional being, people take liberties with how they work., Sirens in this are waaaay further off from their mythological depictions, and basilisks are closer to the irl lizard than the mythic creature. Unlike anemone dicked shark birds, six limbed harpies have been described and depicted for a VERY long time in media - picking THIS as a hill to die on means it's nothing more than a personal preference for a fictional creature where neither version is objectively better.

Otherwise, most of the shit I've done beforehand is by myself, where I have complete control over images, editing, video, audio, design, code, writing etcetc. Hence why I'm asking to see if people want something, because it seems to go against the spirit of a group project to just dump changes and ideas with no other input or without request outside of QC. The ability to bitch at each other and argue about what should and shouldn't go in seems to be the a strength of a project like this; with the associated weakness being that everyone is seeming to try to get along with each other to a given degree. I'll wait on more Anons before coming to a final conclusion.

>Assume one

I don't, I just address under the assumption that whoever is repsonding has read the chain and is arguing from the same PoV provided (since most of the time they aren't stating otherwise where their opinion differs). The difference is that we shoudn't be facilitating incorrect definitions when we are aware we are wrong. We have enough winged shit in the game, it makes no worldbuilding sense that Harpies, Valkryies, Pheonixes, Siren(s) and the soon(tm) Angels all are biologically identical outside of some minor irrelevant shit; when each should be descriptively and visually distinct.

>Most clothes shouldn't work for the wings as they are

>Then we are already assuming the player makes alterations to the clothing to accommodate their wings?

The champion doesn't make any of their own clothing. They either get it made, in which case alterations to fit your body would make sense, or find it, in which case it already makes no sense that it even fits them. Armor working for a PC's body shape is something that's given a large amount of liberty in games like this, and isn't really the biggest issue here.

>Then we are already assuming the player makes alterations to the clothing to accommodate their wings? Yet not when you say they don't? Bullshit. You are contradicting yourself with your own nitpicking.

When did I say that clothing couldn't be modified? I don't know if you're assuming I'm some other anon or what. Some armor references sleeves, and it's mildly dumb to imagine an entire wing (that can support a human being) folded up in there, but not exactly a deal breaker. The larger issues are the things like fisting, and there are a decent number of them.

 No.361491

>the fact that wings are inconsistent with some armors doesn't mean we should make the problem that much worse.

Yet my point still stands. If we already assume the player makes alterations to their clothing or has it custom made to fit, not just their wings, but all the other transformations like shark fins, ovipositors, or our legs changing into an entirely different shape with clawed feet, then even mentioning the sleeves in the first place was just someone being a pedantic cunt.

If not, then chop chop! The fuck are you guys waiting for? Whoever wants clothing to make a lick of sense better get to locking off outfits from individual transformations.

"Votarist" is too unusual a word to repeat it here so soon. I'd love some quadruple alliteration, especially involving the entire first syllable (at best vɪ vaɪ vɪ vaɪ), but I've had no luck coming up with anything. So "saints" it is, since it flows well enough. Or maybe "virtue", so it's at least visual, but missing the mark of perfection by so little is somewhat depressing.

It's not about being clear, it's that your sentence structure's fucked up. Though the result of that is that the reader has to piece together what the structure you intended was (and given the rest of the sentence, I'm not sure everyone will be able to do that detective work). The problem is exacerbated by the fact that you're mixing passive and active voice, but that's only mildly awkward, rather than being wrong.

>Do I want them to link up?

What do you mean? You have an "and", so of course, yes. If you want to mostly preserve the order, you could separate them into clause (e.g., ", and it proved…") or change what you're doing with "proved" (e.g., ", proving…").

>Wouldn't that just be a manner of absolute construction

Oh, forgot to mention—if it came down between the two, I think you'd be better off spending your "votarist" there than in the above place. There's also "vicar", if that interests you. Another possibility is replacing the "vipers" with something with an "ɪ", but I'll also note that alliteration is only about the first consonant, so while the additional assonance you're going for is certainly nice, it's not a failure to not include it.

>I think you'd be better off spending your "votarist" there than in the above place.

I'd disagree here. Her saying they're hiding behind a mask would suggest that that mask is a mere facade. But they're still religious zealots, so "votarist" doesn't fit that bill, whereas "virtue" does. At least from her standpoint. Plus, I'd rather have a visual whole-syllable alliteration than none.

>There's also "vicar"

That's one I was considering. I'd then have "vipers" be the odd one out, though the general similarity is fairly nice, but it's also just a title and might not be enough to describe the entire church, and it would have the same issue that "votarist" has in regards to the mask.

I could also go all out and add a "wyverns" in there for "A band of villains, vipers, and wyverns behind vizards of virtue", but at some point I have to wonder whether it's gotten too long and wordy.

>whole-syllable alliteration

Really nitpicky, but what I was trying to get across earlier is that alliteration refers only to the repetition of the first sound of a word (or sometimes of stressed syllables). This is not to say that the assonance you want wouldn't be neat (if you can find a way to swing it, you'll have all of my respect), but just the "v"s would still be proper alliteration, so there's no need to feel that it's "incomplete" or anything.

>I could also go all out and add a "wyverns" in there

Perhaps the Harpy Queen saw a previous champion with the detatched wings resulting from a harpy TF and thought to herself hey, I can make eugenic supersoldiers with this. Hell, depending on how long Minerva has been a thing, you could do some nice interconnected worldbuilding and link the two.

Humanus is non canon crap fodder added by revamp that removes any consequence from consuming transformatives willy nilly. They made it somewhat hard to obtain, but how they introduced it into the game and making it available from a simple bakery makes it a common commodity.

 No.361686

I just had an idea for a compromise. What if we give harpies arm wings and back wings, for a total of 4 wings? Players could get smaller pseudo-wings on their arms because the TF doesn't quite make them real harpies, and because they're smaller they're easy to gloss over and you don't have to rewrite everything. The best part is how easy the change would be; we could just do nothing at all because it's been that way from the beginning.

Maybe for horse pussy, but there are several kids that would be unique enough that it's weird they're not in the game unlike Dick Variant #934.

>Goo pussy

A goo pussy for slimes (technically already a thing, I suppose). Maximum wetness and no stretching problem.

>floral vagina

It could come from the vine armor or Holli turning you into her perfect mate. A unique trait could be that the flower opens up more depending on how much fluids or how recently you watered it with someone's seed.

>demonic pussy

Those are three fantasy oriented ones. I'm sure there are people with greater understanding of animal genitalia than me, so they'll have to chime in for those. >>361697

I don't really give a shit, chalk it up to some shit like 'harpies have hollow bones like birds and that affects the TF, whereas all other races with dense bones react different to it forming their own wings' if you want to make some fluff up to make some proto-sense out of it (bonus note: literally nobody would care with or without it).

Hummanus is described as being like clay and tasting like cheese/crackers. Have it be some underlying calcium rich superfood in which it's easier than other TF items to synthesize into some magical alchemical paste of macguffin and isolate the 'bone change bit' and in turn localise it to the Pheonix's arms/shoulderplates in the process giving them separate wings for independant fighting/flying over having them be lizard-like harpies with arm wings (so it could theoretically be done with anything, but it's much easier to do it with hummanus)

>why

Because we've chewed through about 200 (You)'s bitching over this shit when the easiest answer from the getgo would have been 'its magic I aint gotta explain shit' and just change it for the harpies alone with no other explanations anywhere else so people can just connect the dots with their own headcanon - regardless if you see the original issue as a bug or a feature.

Same double negative, though I'll note specifically that your American readers will probably draw the connection to a southern accent, which probably isn't what you want.

Hamlet 3.2: "Be not too tame neither"

The last one is spoken by a peasant, but the first two by prince Hamlet himself. While I do keep quoting Shakespeare at you by virtue of his fame and importance to that era, the man was a playwright, he wrote for money and amusement, not accuracy, and invented a lot of stuff himself, so people actually having talked like that is debatable. Take it with a grain of salt.

>Bit of an odd response when you're only talking about one person.

Two people can still be a family.

>I don't know if this would bother you.

The "x says" tag is invisible enough that it doesn't. With a different one, it might.

>You probably shouldn't use the hyphen.

I know it's a rarer variant of it, and pretty much inexistent inside the US, but I always found it strange to not make any distinction whatsoever between one that modifies another noun (no one person can defeat me) and one that stands alone, so I like doing these.

Good thing I'm not Canadian.

>the embedded clause being "him faring well" seems just completely wrong to me. The pronoun is definitely a subject, and I don't see why the case would change.

But consistency, think of the consistency, for god's sake.

>we shall not find him faring any better with this.

That's an object, but that's a different construction entirely. "Faring" is just modifying "him" in that one, but in your sentence, there's an embedded clause. If there wasn't she would mean that it is generally good to know him when he is faring well, not that it is good to know that (the most important word, though it's fine to omit) he is faring well. I'll note that this isn't a great usage of the intransitive "ponder". There was one earlier that I liked, but that I forgot to bring up as a counterexample. In any case, I would recommend you change this or add an object.

>honesty and courteousness oft war another

Do you not need a "one"? Another one that's probably just archaic, but I'll mention it just in case.

>You ignore any implications of that and ask Marielle if their background matters, like wealth or education.

I'll note that that "their" doesn't have a proper antecedent, so I'd recommend something like "one's", but since it's indirect dialogue, you can kind of slip by, you scoundrel.

>… well, I believe that matters not overmuch

Capitalize that "well".

>You take her awfully specific choice of words and follow up with the question of whether 'handsome' won't do, instead.

I don't believe this sentence works anymore. I remember it working with her previous dialogue, but her current line doesn't feel particularly specific, and this also implies that the champion understands her well, which is far from a guarantee these days.

>… what I mean is

W

>She seems be

You're sipping that coolaid a bit too hard, there. "To".

>she closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, then lets go of it.

I'm going to complain about your usage of "then" as a coordinating conjunction, and you're going to ignore me.

>It's too soft to make out, but she repeats it once more

How do you know she's repeating herself if you can't make it out?

>hemming it clear.

Well I've got you now. This "it" has nothing to hide behind.

>trying to pry her open

Bit of an odd turn of phrase.

>It seems the topic is indeed quite a sensitive one, as after a second of an almost visible lack of comprehension, the girl's eyes grow wide, arms suddenly as stiff as the rest of her posture.

I'd probably recommend joining this sentence to one of the paragraphs on either side, as it's a bit odd on its own.

>as after a second of an almost visible lack of comprehension

"Almost" is just wrong if you're learning this by looking at her.

>Marielle meanwhile eyes the temple's exit.

I might recommend commas around that "meanwhile".

"Comely" is chiefly used for women, and I hadn't changed that, and "lineaments", while usually referring to the face, can also apply to other parts of the body, or even the whole of it. But should I make that a "comely and shapely", or maybe just make the talk fail if you're below 90 INT?

>you're going to ignore me.

Not this time. I think an "and" sounds slightly better here.

>How do you know she's repeating herself if you can't make it out?

>Bit of an odd turn of phrase.

How so? I'm trying to get the verbal forcefulness across.

I suppose, yes. The champion jumping at her "specific choice of words" when the majority of players and characters won't know at least one of them is a bit odd. "Comely and shapely" would be better, but I might recommend making "specific" more ambiguous instead.

 No.362015

I don't know what counts as a day any more:

>Yet I must admit I am not fond of, ah… phalli,</i>\" she says like the word could sting her, \"<i>howsoever.

Somewhat odd to have that single bit linger after the tag.

>"<i</i>

What would even cause this putrid monstrosity?

>— oh!

Probably capitalize that.

>— ah

This one too.

>I would know not what to do, even if you… even if I wanted to.

This is the only one that doesn't make her agreement clear.

>scooting back on her stool in agitation.

Since this is in narration, I'll recommend that you not use that word in that sense. The vast majority of your readers will think (potentially just for a moment) that she's angry with them.

>\"<i>…[name]?</i>\" she asks, her anxiousness clear even in her voice, then flinches when you touch her shoulder.

You know my individual issues with this usage of "then" (which I'll concede is becoming more popular, though it's always struck me as strange that you do it) and linking other verbs with dialogue tags like this (with the tag after the dialogue), but combined, the two are particularly odious to my nose.

>With her head this much in a jumble

This sentence feels odd separating the two lines of dialogue but sharing a paragraph with both.

>though the smile having taken shape on her face is all you need, anyway.

I'll note that though this isn't precisely wrong, it would probably be better to have the subject be a noun. Here, the entire subject is "the smile having taken shape on her face", and it's hard to convey the exact sense that this is awkward. It's basically saying, "The fact that the smile has taken shape on her face is…", and maybe you can tell from that example, but the "the" isn't justified at all. I think you actually probably intended what I'm recommending, which is to make "the smile" the subject, and to use a relative clause (or similar) for the "has". I'm hoping some of that was able to make it through, but in any case, this is what I mean: "though the smile that has taken shape on her face…"

>You push her further.

These four little words are a bit sad all on their own. I might recommend expanding this sentence or dropping it entirely.

>mumbling something that sounds like an 'Apologies', but still looks less than pleased.

That "but" most naturally parses as joining a verb to "sounds" on first reading. I would highly recommend not leaving that ambiguity in.

>[if (silly)

Ah, yes, just as advertised, thank you.

>for nearly a good minute

I'm not sure you can use those (i.e., "nearly" and "good") together.

>if there be creatures that display, ah, mutual interest, 'twould

The "it" embedded in "'twould" is meant to refer to "creatures" (yes?), but that's plural.

>Hmm, well, be that as it may

Her previous sentence was a question, so that phrase doesn't really work.

>she unclasps her hand and stretches them out in front of her

s

>Marielle forces an unfitting smile, staring at a long-bladed pair of scissors, gradually lost in thought.

Oh, it was all that training she put in that lets her sometimes kill you, I see. The lore runs so deep.

While I haven't made specific note of the sentences I like here (as I might have even done so already), there were many. Okay, just one: "After lingering on her lamp for a few seconds longer, the seamstress leans back and looks to you again."

more minor repetition

>wet kisses [if (flat and child and feminine) {,

It's not a big deal, as I'll be fixing this one in post anyway, but I thought I'd point out the space before the conditional.

>[if (isnaga) something

{

>seems to fall apart|legs wrap around her}]}]. She doesn't seem

potential repetition

>eagerly seeking out the spots that leave you quivering underneath her.

>When she finds one, the darkness before you bursting to white, she never lets up,

"Spots" being plural in that first sentence would seem to imply that she's already finding them.

>even as you clench down on her, throbbing in her mouth and around her finger when the pressure breaks and a hazy heat washes over you. Even

repetition

>Each lick across your sensitive [skinshort] makes you shudder again

If that's meant to be interior licking, "scales" wouldn't make sense here, at the least.

>[say: How was it?] she finally says

"asks"?

>, and that's about the last thing you ever thought you'd hear her ask

Oh, guess that'd cause a problem. Might still want to make it something like "inquires" or whatever.

>[if (picked anything beside 'doesn't matter') {You did ask for that

potential repetition

>[Helspawn] reluctantly rises, her tail tickling

I can't resist saying "nice".

>The two of you quickly dress yourself

yourselves

>[if (slutspawn) {blushes fiercely|smiles wider}]

I'd had something here asking if this was meant to be the other way around, but after reading further, I have to compliment your handling of this.

[if (slutspawn) { [

A space snuck in here.

>longer [if (slutspawn) {,

No space before the conditional.

>[if (kiha in camp)

I thought this was supposed to be a nice scene.

>No, [i:delicious], even.

You rascal.

>Seemingly [if (slutspawn) {thoroughly embarrassed by|satisfied with}]

Dunno about "seemingly thoroughly", so I might recommend making that "seeming to be".

My utmost apologies for neglecting things so long. You're a wonderful writer, and you deserve better.

If you want to know, I have \"<i> and </i>\" on an autocorrect for double < and >, respectively. So if I'm too tired and hit <<>, then delete the closing mark and backslash and don't realise why I needed to delete them, it looks like that.

>The vast majority of your readers will think (potentially just for a moment) that she's angry with them.

I assume you're talking about "agitation". I've mostly seen and heard that word used in the exact sense I use it here, and quite rarely to mean "anger". I think that sense is far more common when referring to a group or mass of people, not a single individual. And shouldn't the context alone make it painfully clear which one it is?

>"though the smile that has taken shape on her face…"

I entirely fail to see the point you were arguing or even what's supposed to be different about it now, but I guess it sounds a little bit better?

>The "it" embedded in "'twould" is meant to refer to "creatures" (yes?), but that's plural.

>but you can't imagine it being good either way.

Minor issue, but this implies that there are two specific ways you could take it, but you kept it more vague than that.

>This corrupted rodent stands a punitive five feet

"Punitive" means "intended as punishment", and I don't think he's an Alice. At least I hope he's not an Alice.

>though it's still big enough compared to you to make you wary

You use "he" elsewhere throughout this paragraph, so I'd recommend changing this "it" to match.

>sprouts tufts of burgundy fur.

Just "sprout".

>mostly-rat-like

Remove the first hyphen.

>worth note

Should be "worth noting" or "worthy of note".

>else {narrowly missing with his tactless swing.}]

>Clumsy that he is

though

>else {thankfully landing nowhere near you}].

The dragon-shell shield absorbs fluid attacks, though text can be stolen from somewhere if you aren't interested.

Player x Arian

Player x Jojo

Player x Ember(?)

Basically a lot of "we're both virgins but let's figure this out" because my virginal monk suddenly being knowledgable with fuckery when dealing with arian always seemed weird. Also he's a good boy and deserves a scene for that.

 No.362113

I don't like the plague rats for a generic encounter

The content itself is just really far out there and doesn't suit to be something that replaces a very common encounter

However I do think they would make for a unique kind of randomised dungeon template that were planned at some point

The greater and lord imps should just be gotten rid of, there is no need for a replacement as there are many high level enemies already in later areas

 No.362114

>Personally, I think it works.

That's a good point, I hadn't realized the lack of mutually virgin scenes. Though, that said, virginity is only tracked anally and vaginally, so that will only work when your mutual first is with you taking it in the ass, or having a vagina and taking it there.

>>362123

Really? Filthy, red-skinned, short, horny demons? They seem to fit in the same capacity as imps. The only thing deviating from other content is that they have gross saliva. There's loads of content for being gross in all the other ways.

I'm not seeing what makes them all that unusual

>that said, virginity is only tracked anally and vaginally, so that will only work when your mutual first is with you taking it in the ass, or having a vagina and taking it there

"Submerging" modifies "he" here, but he's not really doing that to himself.

I find that "and" pretty awkward. I would recommend a "so" or a semicolon in its place, but there are a lot of potential solutions.

You should probably make that "would" a "will", as this isn't a hypothetical situation.

So how do you do a construction like that with two verbs that take different auxiliaries? Do you just not give a shit about the second one, like you're suggesting? That seems efficient, but quite shockingly improper. There's no tense mixing, they're both present perfect.

>So how do you do a construction like that with two verbs that take different auxiliaries?

Modern English doesn't really have situations like this, to my knowledge. The most similar thing I can think of is the use of "to be going to", but you wouldn't generally mix that with "will" ("I will go there and am going to kill him," just sounds strange).

>There's no tense mixing, they're both present perfect.

Ah, I'd had the wrong impression of things. In that case, I'd recommend not moving that "have". Upon even closer inspection, a large part of the problem is the "either" coming directly before the "roosted", as that binds the "or" to it as well (though just removing the "either" doesn't solve the problem entirely). Although I would like the moved "have" if not for this, so you might want to do some more in-depth reconstruction. I'm only pretty sure about all that, so if you have an example of a sentence doing exactly what I'm telling you not to do, go right on ahead. I'm also realizing that this might just fall under the reasonable-speech-error category, so I'm pretty ambivalent.

>How so?

The only meaning of "however" that could potentially be relevant here is the "on the other hand" usage, but that doesn't make sense. She's not contrasting anything with an earlier point or anything like that.

>A tad sparse

More to them than "you break the neck, putting an end to them". They're meant to just be swift and to the point executions for people that want to purge demon filth but aren't insane sadists. >You ask about her father again, but you can't get out much at all before she cuts you off.

I might recommend something like a "start to" or "try to" for the "ask", as while it's an autistic complaint, you have a complete action which you immediately specify as incomplete.

>Withal a gift of greatness beyond mere drudgery

Not quite sure what you're doing with this, or how the drudgery factors in.

>and at one such night

on (unless that's an anachronism)

>…Within

You use spaces after your ellipses, so you should be consistent. I feel like we've actually been here before, and I don't remember where we got last time, but the usage of ellipses in this game (and I think in common usage, as it's often what you naturally see around, despite it not being how any style guide does it) is weird. If you'd like to avoid this conversation entirely, you could format it as an interruption in the dialogue. As a small mercy, I'll note that you should read on before wasting time.

>he a man merry, she a woman nigh-married

I believe that those are appositives and should thus have commas on either side, but I could be wrong.

>nigh-married… Married to some lord unbeknown and undesired

Make that "m" lowercase, if that's meant to be a continuation of "nigh-married" (and it doesn't make sense the other way).

>…Make merry.

Another. I wonder, have I been missing these?

>to discover the man woebegone he assayed to inspirit to be a, ah, high-born maiden…

It took me longer than usual to piece together the construction you were going for here, so while it's possible to link everything up right, I'll note that this one might be more of a stumbling block than usual, if you care.

>Well, magic I cannot wield, myself, thus any endeavor to bestow suchlike knowledge upon you would be rather… fruitless.

I don't like the omission of "didn't"'s subject along with the comma splice. Makes it feel too much like dialogue for a tooltip, in my view.

Another dialogue tag awkwardly joined to another verb. She can't "stop" that quote. Do you change these? I can't remember if we've parted ways on this.

Something among the lines of "Besides a gift for greatness outside the drudgery that is a soldier's life". Tried to make that clearer.

>I believe that those are appositives and should thus have commas on either side

That would make the sentence overladen with punctuation and present a readability issue with two commas around "she". Could make the preceding one a semicolon, but that looks mildly dreadful.

>I'll note that this one might be more of a stumbling block than usual

I knew it would be when I wrote that abomination. Maybe I can save it.

>Not the biggest fan of that comma splice (and an "and" would fit so nicely, too).

What comma splice? There's an adverbial conjunction.

>I'll note that this should probably have "trying to" or an equivalent.

I think it does better without. A blind man can still paint, so to her, there is no trying, but only a result that would be less than satisfactory.

>You know what? It's fine.

I guess I should explain anyway. I link ellipses (and em dashes) to the sentence they belong to. In these examples, the pause should be conceived not as after the previous sentence, which isn't even anywhere near it, but as before this one. So I put no space there. Plus, it would look kinda silly, and that makes it very clear that it's a pause or hesitation, and not an omission. That's also the reason why I write "I— But— Why wou— How?" and not "I—But—Why wou—How?" as style guides would suggest. Sheer clarity.

>I might recommend switching those.

Switching what?

>That should probably be "isn't there", as she's not actually asking you.

Forgot their name, but don't these work in the way that positives and negatives get inverted? I see the "little" there as indicative of a negative sentence, thus it needs a positive ", is there?" If that was a "much", it'd make that a ", is there not?" Or am I remembering that lesson from all these years ago incorrectly?

>I've noticed how fucking depressed she is, christ

She isn't supposed to be depressed in this one, though. Perhaps I should ditch the alliteration for once and make that "nostalgia".

>I remember this being a bit more "stimulating"

Strange, I don't think I took any vital passage away from it. If anything, I actually expanded on it in the third paragraph.

>Do you change these? I can't remember if we've parted ways on this.

I do, mostly, but not this one. Starting and stopping is a single action here, so it makes sense to me to join them, even as a dialogue tag.

>[Thought So]? This is already the only one that isn't an emotion/response. [Satisfied]? [Content]? [Appeased]?

>That would make the sentence overladen with punctuation and present a readability issue with two commas around "she".

The hole you've dug yourself into shouldn't mean that you ignore punctuation, and these commas aren't optional. Looking into it briefly gave me enough evidence to embolden me—add those commas or restructure the sentence.

>There's an adverbial conjunction.

Do you mean "thus"? That's not a conjunction. Also, "adverbial conjunction" is a nonsense phrase.

>A blind man can still paint, so to her, there is no trying, but only a result that would be less than satisfactory.

But where that metaphor breaks down is in the objects you've chosen: "glory and glister". How could a blind man get that glory to come through?

>as style guides would suggest.

I don't believe any style guide suggests that for interruptions in dialogue.

>Switching what?

The first and last words. "Connect the dots" is a lot more standard, if you care.

>Or am I remembering that lesson from all these years ago incorrectly?

Yes, she's making a positive assertion. If you untangle the sentence, it would be "Is there (not) little…", and "little" doesn't have any polarity of its own (it's not a function word). I'd hope thinking of it as "Is there little…" would make the problem clear.

>Starting and stopping is a single action here, so it makes sense to me to join them, even as a dialogue tag.

You wouldn't use just "stop", so no, it does not make sense. If that verb couldn't take the object you've fronted to the start of the clause, you shouldn't join it like that. Most of these work as participles anyway (e.g., "she starts, stopping (immediately or whatever)").

>How could a blind man get that glory to come through?

He can't, and that's the point? I don't know what you're attempting to argue here.

>I don't believe any style guide suggests that for interruptions in dialogue.

It seems the current edition of the CMoS doesn't properly touch upon that subject, but every editor's blog I checked that hearkened to that style had interruptions and abrupt changes of thought indicated as em dashes without spaces, neither before nor after.

>If you untangle the sentence, it would be "Is there (not) little…", and "little" doesn't have any polarity of its own

But if you negate "little" into "not little", I would assume you meant the actual opposite of the word, which is "much". Thus an "is it not" doesn't make a tonne of sense and would imply something different for me than intended. "Is there little to be done?" is unambiguous, while "Is there not little to be done?" is heavily stress-dependant, so why would you do it?

>You wouldn't use just "stop", so no

Good thing I'm not doing that and said it's a single action, then.

>>362664

>one thing they almost always say is that you need a semicolon rather than a comma.

Tell me, when have you last seen someone actually adhering to that "rule" and observed a semicolon in its natural habitat in front of adverbs like "also", "therefore", and "nevertheless"? Style guides and blogs may say a lot of good and helpful things, but on some issues, they are surprisingly out of touch with reality. And that's coming from me.

>I don't know what you're attempting to argue here.

Is the metaphor you're going for that her teaching you would be as miraculous as a blind man doing that? That doesn't really follow from the last sentence, as she makes it explicitly about an attempt to teach you, not about successfully doing so. Your idea could potentially work, but you would either need to introduce or formulate it a bit differently.

>But if you negate "little" into "not little"

But you're not negating little, and no one will read it that way. If you're reading it that way, even in the unchanged order, I would probably suggest that that's probably because you're ESL. The fact that you're moving it to the end also completely removes this possible ambiguity, so I don't really know what your point is here. I think part of the problem is that neither of these is extremely suited to this sentence, but one of them at least has the meaning you want.

>"Is there little to be done?"

This only works if she's legitimately asking you, or if she follows it up with something like a "Perhaps". The latter is what I would recommend if you're dead-set on keeping it this way.

>while "Is there not little to be done?" is heavily stress-dependant

This is not true at all. Reading it as "not" negating "little" is what would require an unusual stress, so even in this order, your readers will know what you mean.

>Good thing I'm not doing that and said it's a single action, then.

But I'm telling you that the verb does not work with the object you are giving it. The presence of another verb that does doesn't magically change that. I'm just demonstrating that point by pointing out how much more wrong the sentence would sound without the other one.

>Tell me, when have you last seen someone actually adhering to that "rule" and observed a semicolon in its natural habitat in front of adverbs like "also", "therefore", and "nevertheless"?

Literally all of the time in any proper writing (and I don't tend to see these words at all in informal writing, at least in this usage). Do you not? It's a comma splice without those, and that can be fine in some places, but I'm not a fan here. You know that grammatically, "conjunctive adverbs" are just adverbs, right? The category is meaningless (grammatically), and they can't actually join clauses all on their own. That's why they need a semicolon or a real conjunction. To reiterate, they are not conjunctions, that is not the part of speech that they are. Putting a "thus" at the beginning of a clause like you are here is the exact same thing as putting it at the beginning of a sentence. I can demonstrate this in more ways if you'd like: clauses headed by "conjunctive adverbs" can stand completely on their own, and the very fact that you can put a conjunction like "and" there means that that slot isn't being taken up. I think you might have been fooled by whatever retard decided to use the term "adverbial conjunctions" without any understanding of the actual grammar.

Which would still be fairly low birth numbers and fickle fertility. Keeping in mind people used to have TONS of kids irl because you could expect some wouldn't make it to adulthood.

Then how did they survive? She mentions them peddling small baubles and garments to get by earlier. Not a big deal to leave the details out, I suppose, but I am curious.

>No glimpse of them we caught amidst the shrouded trees

I might be completely wrong here, but "caught we" seems vaguely more natural in her parlance. I hope that means I'm getting somewhere, though I could just as easily be completely lost.

>One of her hands reaches for a handkerchief and brings it to her face, another clasps the piece of yarn, while the remaining two massage her neck and shoulders.

It's always better to start small, so instead of going for an ambitious project you'd probably want to start small.

By all means, those small projects can make up a larger plan, but segment yourself.

For example, if you want to do this 'other champion' (discounting the factory/Scylla/all the other actual human/champions before etc) start by doing small dialogues. Perhaps the PC asks Anzu if anybody else has come along recently and have him recall 'human' tracks in the snow. Perhaps a throwaway comment in a bit of dialogue as the Bartender in Tel'Adre makes some conversation. Perhaps some small talk with Sean where he comments that he likes dealing with humans (in turn implying he's met others). Something which lays foundation without requiring followup, and can exist standalone.

But seriously, don't start something unless you are absolutely certain you can finish it. One-offs are exponentially easier and in more demand than new projects; plus it actually develops your writing quality and prevents your longer projects from being riddled with issues.

The project you're describing would require tens of passages, and until it starts to git gud and developed, nobody is going to help you with it (which would mean no coding, no implementation help, barely and quality control unless it's of amazing quality from the getgo and no potential spritework - unless you want to do that all by yourself too) off of trust alone due to the multitude of failed projects that have come before you. It's far too ambitious to reccommend to someone new. You're eating a ghost pepper before you can handle a jalapeno.

>tl;dr

No. Do smaller passages that need doing, check the bulletin/bounty if you're that interested. Build up your reputation and understand your scope.

Hey about characters, the whole set-up is that Mareth has been corrupted and that also there are people who have come from other worlds (like the PC) and those who were corrupted with the world.I wanted to ask if we had more characters here from other worlds or not. After all Fag only added like three more characters from other worlds (that I know of) Dominika, Marble, and Izumi but the implication is that the portals aren't only connected to the world that we came from so are there more that are in the game or that were added?

Most of the world is foreign to some extent. Lethice and her main crew, Anzu, Scylla, most of the Factory, Pablo etc. It's not as uncommon as you imply, same as the isekai genre as a whole.

>Learn what reddit spacing is

>>What is the delineation between paragraphing and a leddit space

A paragraph is a single line used to denote a change in point, but still pertaining to a topic. They're useful and common, however are sometimes couples with a short break on the next line (especially in books) to make them easier to see in written form (though much less common and less needed when typing)

A section break (or in this case, the dubbed 'leddit space') is a line of nothing (or in some cases a line of symbols when in book form, but still with no inherent meaning to the point) used to denote a shift in both point and topic. It is the more extreme paragraph, the stronger paragraph (in the same vein to the colon being the more extreme semicolon or the full stop being the more extreme comma)

Ledditards do not have the delineation between a paragraph and a section break; they can't differentiate between the two due to the sites dogshit coding and in turn condition themselves to believe the paragraph (one press of Enter) and the section break (two presses of Enter) are interchangeable. In reality it is (or was) an otherwise rare mistake to make. If this was in an essay and handed into any upstanding reviewer with a grip of basic English form, you would be marked down - or at the very least the error would be highlighted and you would be asked why you would make such an odd mistake should you constantly use section breaks in the place of paragraphs.

By using the two interchangeably (or more accurately, not using paragraphs at all in favour of nothing but section breaks). you would be making a mistake to the effect of using full stops in the places of commas. as with this paragraph. Looks stupid doesn't it.

You are a dumb nigger (along with *all* the other dumb nigger leddit spacers) who does not grasp basic English form I would expect of a teenager. Kill yourself.

Nah, it's just unpersonified fortune here.

>Then how did they survive?

I don't know what them having not seen the inquisitors for a year has anything to do with survival, but all right. Like anyone living on the road—peddling baubles and sewing, as she mentions, as well as foraging and hunting. With her being as low-maintenance as she is, the survival part is hardly an issue.

>I might be completely wrong here, but "caught we" seems vaguely more natural in her parlance.

She could say it either way around, yes.

>I feel like a hug from behind is significantly different from a normal comforting hug, especially when you were facing her to start.

A hug from behind can be plenty comforting. And while I only mention her turning her face away, it shouldn't be too far of a stretch to assume that she adjust her posture accordingly as well, so she doesn't directly face you any more. Do I need to make that clearer?

>I think you want an "everything"/"all"/whatever there, not an "anything".

I think both could have their place here. Either having little of anything (at all), or having little of everything. And looking at that, "anything" makes more sense.

>"May" is present, no?

It is, yes. And while nowadays that distinction is unknown to many, I suppose Marielle should be making that mistake rarely at most.

>You can't fan out a single strand of hair.

>Do I need to make that clearer?

If your intent was that she turned her whole body away, yes. I assumed she just had her head craned to the side, as she wanted to minimize her reaction as much as possible.

>Can't "strand" refer to what is technically a small lock of hair?

Can it? While I suppose that that is not semantically impossible, "strand of hair" is used to refer to a single one with very high frequency, so I wouldn't recommend that.

I suppose that depends on how important the soul is in this particular fantasy. This could actually be important to decide if for no other reason than figuring out how much the demon transformation should change a person, but it isn't like we really have anything to go off of. There are three possibilities I see for this.

1. We could go the D&D route where the soul is a fundamental requirement for a living creature, thus a soulless creature that doesn't have some form of substitute like corruption would just be an empty unresponsive husk, a metaphorical vegetable if you will.

2. There is also the Warhammer distinction, where the soul is important but less so for the less spiritual races. In Warhammer, most human souls aren't potent enough to even be conscious entities, and those possessing human bodies can find their own thoughts and emotions being altered by their new body's brain chemistry. They really go with the idea that it is our brain that makes us who we are.

Right Anons, hear me out here, I've got a plan.

What with all these kickstarters popping up getting millions of dosh for creators who've never made a game before, how about we do this:

>1. Set up a group kickstarter

>2. Agree upon a place where we can split the money safely and Anonymously

>>2.5 No fucking around with the money, we split right down the middle for the autists that show up

>3. Trick dumb normalfag idiots into putting money into the '''trustworthy CoC rework'' (if the retards that made the basegame can do it, it should be a cakewalk)

>4. Milk the fucking downies for every penny they have, make the fuckers remorgage their house if necessry

>5. Put ballpeen hammers to their dumbfuck soft skulls (not like they were going to contribute anythin meaningful to society anyways, we'd probably be doing the world a favour)

>>5.5 See if we can lure Jewnoxo in and do the same

>6. ???

>7. Profit.

Infallible right? I cannot think of a single way this could go wrong.

COC-II is not a true sequel as it is set in a completely different universe and pretends that COC never existed. Also the core language(s) are completely different (COC is in actionscript while COC-II is in javascript and very likely some shit framework (i.e nearly every single one) while also using electron for the offline downloads). Finally COC-II is not "open source" in that a publicly accessible repo exists, not that getting the source is hard. However why bother when it will absolutely be extreme dogshit and almost certainly need to be completely rewritten (both as code and text).

>>363290

>"changes from CoC2"?

Probably the realtime map.

>>363291

The combat (Xania or however you spell it) mod hosted on their forum, made changes at his request as did revamp (even before they changed their name to increase the distance between them and vanilla also at his or Fenoxo's request. It's still not worth to port anything from CoC2 (or rather CuCk2) even without the threat of fake DMCA battles because it's just devoid of any decent content, the only half-assedly good thing would be the automap, but that is already easily replicated here for the dungeons where it matters.

He recently managed to convince Kitteh to stop developing Revamp which is actually a bad thing because it shields this mod from the general retards swarming the threads. It's really too bad we can't have dynamic themes that change based on the location biome, such as forestry themed when exploring forest, trees, bushes, grass. Desert themed for desert with sand, rocks, cactus, when idle at camp you see your camp in the background that matches the text description, so over time that you build it up/make it better you actually see those visual camp changes reflect in the theme & background images. You get the idea.

And even if all but one funder is A-OK with it, if one starts swinging their power around then it usually in turn creates a domino effect.)

It's bullshit, but welcome to the modern era - where one of the guys I work under got a discipliniary and almost had his funding pulled over the fact he suggested that the reason for an odd Kwazulusaurus specimin if you care, a close relative of the Lystrosaurus, a more commonly known dinosaur who were the effective deer/cows in its region during the Triassic was possibly due to a physical deformation such as down syndrome (it wasn't that he suggested that a fucking lizard from 300 million fucking years ago had something similar to downies, it's that he said it in an insensitive manner to a contained room of 17 people)

tl;dr I'd be all for it, but I don't have access to direct fossil remains nor the authourity to get them handed out nor the influence nor the sway (in part because I'm not particularly good at sucking up to others).
