Code thread Anonymous 07/02/15 (Thu) 03:28:25 No. 7210
Here is a place where we can discuss about codes and events and share our ideas.
For the start here is an updated version of the Quentin Tarantino-themed code I have created in the other board. It still needs lots of improvement and more fancy events, but I'll post anyway in case someone else is interested to run a test:

I have seen suggestions for some sort of Summer-themed code for August (season 4), a spooky code for October (season 5), and a Winter-themed code for December (season 6).
Anonymous 07/02/15 (Thu) 21:44:14 No. 7214
Winter-themed events we have come up with so far:
Non-lethal (Bloodbath):
(Player1) grabs a viking helmet, believing that they will look badass.
(Player1) grabs an Alpenhorn.
Non-lethal (day and night):
(Player1), (Player2), and (Player3) go on a hunt for caribou.
(Player1) and (Player2) build a snowman modeled after a former tribute.
(Player1) and (Player2) construct an igloo.
(Player1) writes his/her name on the snow with their urine.
(Player1) licks a lamppost and gets (his/her1) tongue stuck.
An icicle falls on (Player1), but it breaks apart upon impact.
(Player1) tells a yeti they wish to go back home. He responds "No can do!"
(Player1)'s urge to kill rises.
(Player1) yodels.
(Player1) and (Player2) discuss who should be Dirty Dan and who should be Pinhead Larry.
(Player1) constructs an igloo.
Lethal:
An icicle falls on (Player1), killing (him/her1).
(Player1) encounters a yeti and gets killed.
(Player1) stabs (Player2) with an icicle.
I might make a pastebin document for these ideas.

More suggestions:
Non-lethal (Bloodbath):
(Player1) grabs several bottles of vodka.
(Player1) grabs a lantern.
(Player1) grabs a snow shovel.
Non-lethal (day and night):
(Player1) constructs makeshift claws.
(Player1) cuts open a Tauntaun to keep (Player2) safe.
(Player1) starts a snow plow company with (Player2).
(Player1), (Player2), (Player3), and (Player4) engage in a snowball fight.
(Player1) discovers an abandoned cottage.
(Player1) slides on the soap.
(Player1) tries to melt the snow with a hairdryer.
(Player1) and (Player2) do nothing all day but drink vodka.
Lethal:
(Player1) bludgeons (Player2) with an ice axe.
(Player1) shoves (Player2) into a crevasse.
(Player1) defeats (Player2) who then lets wolves eat (him/her2).

Here is some more suggestions:
(Player1) encounters an angry caribou, but manages to escape from it.
(Player1), (Player2), (Player3) & (Player4) go to ice skate in a frozen lake.
(Player1), (Player2), (Player3), (Player4) & (Player5) engage in a snowball fight.
(Player1), (Player2), (Player3) & (Player4) gang up on (Player5) & assault (him/her5) with snowballs
Fatal:
(Player1) encounters an angry caribou, which proceeds to trample (Player1) to death.
(Player1) falls into a frozen lake while was ice skating on it.
(Player1) tries to come through the chinmey dressed as Santa, but ends up breaking (his/her1) neck.

A. Nonny Moose 07/03/15 (Fri) 19:05:40 No. 7485
I'll post a few events here that I'll add later:
Non-lethal Bloodbath:
(Player1) runs back and forth from the Cornucopia unsure of what to do.
(Player1) grabs a flamethrower.
(Player1) gets a copy of Mjölnir.
Non-lethal day and night:
(Player1) wards off a pack of wolves.
(Player1) is attacked by a bear, but is saved by (Player2). (I think this is ad verbatim of one of the events usually used in /co/'s custom events.)
(Player1) gets a Christmas/Hanukkah special episode.
Lethal events:
(Player1) lures (Player2) into a snowstorm and (he/she2) freezes to death.
(Player1) develops cabin fever and kills (Player2), (Player3) and (Player4) with an ax. (Night only)
Thinking (his/her1) team is weak, (Player1) grabs a flamethrower and burns (Player2) and (Player3).
Non-lethal Feast:
When nobody was looking, (Player1) took forty cakes.
Lethal Feast:
(Player1) tries to eat as much food as (he/she1) can, but ends up choking to death.
A. Nonny Moose 07/04/15 (Sat) 07:52:31 No. 7486
Ideas from /co/ (part 1):
For the feast:
>(Player1) and (Player2) go to the feast and share a nice cup of cocoa.
Lethal
>(Player1) throws a snowball with a rock inside at (Player2)'s head, killing them.
Non Lethal
>(Player1) sees (Player2) shivering and decides to give him/her their jacket.
>(Player1) licks a lamppost and gets (his/her1) tongue stuck. (Player2) points and laughs at him/her.
All of these except the last one were added. This was just a single reply, anyway. There is already a lamppost event. Beyond these suggestions there was one for an avalanche arena event in this reply.
A. Nonny Moose 07/04/15 (Sat) 08:08:47 No. 7487
Ideas from /co/ (part 2):
Santa Claus visits the arena.
[Player 1] is deemed nice and receives a present.
[Player 1] is deemed naughty and gets killed by Santa.
Alternatively: Santa weeps as the Krampus carries [Player 1] away for being naughty
>[Player1] and [Player2] go to Narnia
(This one seems a bit too outlandish, even by the standards of what is in so far. I didn't even include the other suggestion of the reply which was even more outlandish. I'm adding this here anyway for future reference.)
(Player1) discovers the true meaning of Christmas!
(Player1) lights the menorah, but causes a fire to spread, killing (Player2).
(I think these are funny.)
>(Player1) starts singing "Let it Go", (Player2) starts beating (him/her1) to death
(Another funny one.)
>(Player1) gets a visit from Santa! (Player1) was on the nice list, so he gets a present.
>(Player1) gets a visit from Santa! (Player1) was on the naughty list so Santa kills them
>(Player1) gets a visit from Santa! The two get into a brawl and (Player1) kills Santa, then dons his coat, thus becoming the new Santa Claus.
(I'm not so sure about adding these. Gotta keep Santa consistent.)
(Player 1) finds (Player 2) camouflaged in a mud puddle and stomps (him/her) to death.
(Maybe. I figure that this is something that could work in general.)
>Player] 1 delivers the boner of the year
(It's a strange reference. I'll think about it.)
>(Player1) comes through the roof dressed as Santa, being successful to don't hurt (himself/herself1) during this act.
(Basically a fakeout for an extant event. Will likely be rewritten to read less awkward if added.)
>Avalanche, Blizzard, and Frozen Lake Arena Events
(Just gotta come up with exactly how they kill people. They're all good ideas for arena events.)
A. Nonny Moose 07/04/15 (Sat) 08:16:35 No. 7488
Ideas from /co/ (part 3):
X defeats Y and lets the wolves eat him/her.
(Basically a rewrite for one of the extant events.)
Remove: Luring someone else into a snowstorm
(Seems a bit unlikely. I have considered replacing this with being lured and locked/trapped out of one's shelter.)
____ got gang-raped by horny snowmen
(I think I'll just let reactions determine if this should be kept in or not.)
Player _ climbs a tree and knocks snow off on Player _ .
(Suggested to be nonlethal and lethal. Funny, considering I removed the vanilla tree events aside from stabbing with a tree branch.)
_ got run over by a reindeer.
Player 1 gets run over by a reindeer. Player 2 vows to sue pants off of Santa.
(Player1) and (Player2) each get run over by a reindeer. (Player3) starts singing the song but then gets gored by a third reindeer.
(For all I know, the first two events were suggested to be nonlethal.)
Player 1 is haunted by the three ghosts of Christmas.
Player 1, 2, and 3 sing their own version of the 12 Days of Christmas.
(Decent suggestions)
_1 asks if _2 wants to build a snowman. _2 then kills __1 and hides the body in a snowman.
(Morbid indeed!)
Players 1-5 find a hockey rink and proceed to play a game of hockey.
(More silliness. Will likely add and rely on future reactions.)
(Player 1) is captured by a yeti, but cuts its arm off with a lightsaber and escapes.
(Another Star Wars reference.)
A. Nonny Moose 07/04/15 (Sat) 08:24:00 No. 7489
Ideas for /co/ (part 4):
Now for the spooky arena and other things.
Zombie arena event
(Decent idea)
>Have plenty of references to haunted houses, spooky forests, and graveyards would be the easiest thing.
Player _ ___ sees two red eyes shining off in the distance.
Player _ ___ gets lost in the fog.
(Generic but nice)
Player gets spooked so bad their skeleton jumps out and runs away. (considered injury, not death)
(I find this a truly strange suggestion, mainly because it doesn't result in death.)
———————————————————–
———————————————————–
———————————————————–
In a shocking twist, America decides who lives and dies.
[Player 1] is voted to die next.
[Player 1] is voted to live for now.
[Player 1] finds out that they will die, but rigs the ballots in time to make [Player 2] die instead.
(Hilarious arena event idea.)
Cruise ship arena
(One suggestion for an arena. I'm not sure how it would work.)
A. Nonny Moose 07/04/15 (Sat) 08:32:18 No. 7490
Ideas from /co/: Leftovers
(Player1) slays a winter wolf with a hatchet and crafts themselves a warm fur hat. Their body is ready.
(Good one. I'll probably just leave out the last bit.)
My ideas:
Sled rides for more silliness and potential death.
Some events involving the pine trees.
References to clothing. There's very little so far.
On that note, I think I'll have to re-add the events from
>>7486
I didn't save a version of it with those events.
Anonymous 07/06/15 (Mon) 23:20:24 No. 7491
Entrances:
(Player1) lands a 1080 on his/her snowboard in front of the Cornucopia.
(Player1) and (Player2) arrive on scene in the Jamaican bobsled.
Lethal:
(Player1) discovers (Player2)'s body in a block of ice.
Non-Lethal:
(Player1) starts a fire with their mixtape.
(Player1) decides to go for a jog to keep their body warm.
Anonymous 07/07/15 (Tue) 00:44:50 No. 7492
Some suggestions for the winter code:
Non-lethal
(Player1), (Player2), (Player3), (Player4), (Player5) and (Player6) do a ski competition.
(Player1), (Player2), (Player3), (Player4) and (Player5) do a Christmas dance, Peanuts style.
(Player1) is attacked by a group of evil snowmen, but manages to defeat them all and survive.
(Player1), (Player2), (Player3) and (Player4) spend the night watching It's a Wonderful Life/The Thing/Gremlins. (This event can vary with other winter-themed movies by the way, so the event doesn't become repititive with just one or two movies)
While skiing with the other tributes, (Player1) collides with a tree and gets badly injured.
Lethal
(Player1) is attacked by a group of evil snowmen. They are too many and (Player1) ends up killed.
While skiing with the other tributes, (Player1) takes a wrong turn which makes (him/her1) fall off the cliff.
(Player1) and (Player2) are crushed by an avalanche while were doing a ski competition.
Anonymous 07/07/15 (Tue) 01:06:04 No. 7493
>>7492
A few more:
Non-lethal
(Player1) plans to ruin the winter holidays of the others, as (he/she1) grins like the Grinch.
(Player1) steals the Christmas presents of the other tributes as they go to sleep. (night only)
(Player1) steals the Christmas turkey for (himself/herself1). (feast only)
(Player1), (Player2), (Player3), (Player4) and (Player5) spend the morning singing Christmas carols. (day only)
(Player1) sings The Grinch Theme as (he/she1) goes to spoil the Christmas decorations. (night only)

(Player1) almost dies from hypothermia, staying alive by sheer willpower. (event from og /v/'s games)
Feast: A yeti arrives and offers (Player1) and
(Player2) snow cones.
Feast: (Player1) was the turkey all along! (Invader Zim reference. Could be extra lulzy if someone else steals the turkey.)

ARENA EVENT
A blizzard rampages through the arena.
Surviving scenario: (Player1) survives.
Scenario 1: (Player1) cannot find shelter and freezes to death.
Scenario 2: The shelter of (Player1) and (Player2) collapses on them, killing them.
Scenario 3: (Player1) refuses (Player2) shelter, leaving (him/her2) to die.
Scenario 4: (Player1) cannot see well and falls into a crevasse as a result.
Scenario 5: (Player1) severely injures (Player2) and leaves (him/her1) to die.
On another note, scenario five on the frozen lake arena event should be: (Player1) knocks (Player2) into the frozen lake and leaves (him/her2) to die.

I'm thinking of making a music-based template. What I've thought of so far:
Bloodbath:
[Player1] takes some time to shitpost on /mu/ before leaving.
Non-lethal:
[Player1] starts a band with [Player2], [Player3], and [Player4].
[Player1] gets tickets to a [Player2] concert.
[Player1] asks [Player2] if they like Swans.
[Player1], [Player2], [Player3], and [Player4] audition for American Idol. [Player3] gets the part!
[Player1], [Player2], [Player3], and [Player4] audition for American Idol. No one gets the part.
[Player1] buys [Player2]'s new album. (He/She1) loves it!
[Player1] buys [Player2]'s new album. (He/She1) thinks it sucks.
[Player1] writes a love song about [Player2]
[Player1] makes an awesome bass solo. No one cares because it's a bass solo.
Lethal:
[Player1] strangles [Player2] with an AV cord.
[Player1] listens to [Player2]'s mixtape. It's so fire that [Player1] burns to death.
[Player1] shreds a solo so amazing [Player2]'s head explodes.
[Player1] crowdsurfs into a frozen lake and drowns. (keep the tradition alive)
[Player1] is sliced in half by a snapped guitar string.
[Player1] strangles [Player2] for liking a band [Player1] doesn't like.
[Player1] is trampled to death by a mom of fans.
[Player1] wants to be like Kurt Cobain, so (he/she1) shoots (himself/herself1) in the face with a shotgun.
[Player1] swallows (his/her1)'s clarinet reed and chokes to death.

Corrections:
[Player1] asks [Player2] if (he/she2) likes Swans.
[Player1] is trampled to death by a mob of fans.
[Player1] swallows (his/her1) clarinet reed and chokes to death.
Nonlethat:
[Player1] and [Player2] argue about what the best Beatles album is.
They say that there's a secret chord that [Player1] played and it pleased the Lord.
[Player1] thinks guitar is too hard and decides to play bass.
[Player1] remixes [Player2]'s song.
Fatal:
[Player1] headbangs so hard (his/her1) head falls off.
[Player1] is burned to death by the pyrotechnics.
[Player1] bashes [Player2]'s head in with a bass guitar.
[Player1] stabs [Player2] with a drumstick.
[Player1] is crushed by a piano dropped on (him/her1) by [Player2].
[Player1] is killed by (his/her1) record label for not meeting deadlines.

Arena event: The remaining tributes get in a mosh pit.
[Player1] leaves unhamred.
[Player1] and [Player2] crack their skulls against each other and die.
[Player1] slams [Player2] to the ground and kills (him/her2).
[Player1] dies from internal injuries.
[Player1] tries to leave the mosh pit, but is pulled back in and dies.
[Player1] is crushed to death by [Player2].

Yet another update to the High School template:
http://brantsteele.net/hungergames/r.php?c=soNgp4a2
I've added a handful of new events in each category, mundane and fatal alike, while removing a few others. I also redid all of my arena events, removing all sub-events that killed multiple people in an attempt to reduce arena fatality rate. The other sub-events are also now balanced more towards having a killer, so people should hopefully feel less robbed by the arena in general.

Another thing, be consistent with tense. Some of the events are written in past-tense and some in present-tense. The other templates (and the default) uses present-tense, so I suggest you rewrite with that in mind. Also, arena events need 1 surving event and 5 lethal events.
Oh, and an obvious event:
