A bit /pol/y /his/ has been for a while so given the topic most /pol/acks will ignore this thread so lets talk about African civilizations, I'm really interested in the Great Zimbabwe ruins and I'm wondering if anyone knows any stone built structures north of mexico? Not giant blocks but similar to the small bricks in Great Zimbabwe? I remember hearing about a place in Maine called the American Stonehenge and I'm currently looking into it.

Okay looked it up on Wikipedia and America's Stonehenge as it's called has charcoal found that dates to more than 2000 years ago. Some people are trying to say it was Phoenician colonists given how going from one side of the Mediterranean was a challenge I highly doubt they could cross the Atlantic given the unlikelihood of it being non indigenous I think it's safe to assume its Native in Origin. It also has stones marking the changing of stars and the sun as seen in the third image.

I also heard near San Francisco there are long ass walls that no one ever pays attention to that /may/ have been built by Chinese again, i highly doubt . Anyone else got some interesting not well known impressive non Eurasian civilizations/Buildings?

Question:

What was the African civilizations like pre-Iron age?

I imagine they would still have been Neolithic due to them being far from the Tin routes.

>I imagine they would still have been Neolithic due to them being far from the Tin routes.

True, Africa never developed "real" bronze. All objects from Africa that are called "bronze" would be called "brass" outside Africa.

However, the Nok culture already had iron in 700 BC and there are some archeological sites that point at an even earlier origin of African iron production.

Development of iron metallurgy in Africa probably led to the Bantu expansion.

Speaking of Haille Selassie, could someone give me a brief overview of why he eventually was overthrown?

From my understanding, he and the landed aristocracy of Ethiopia had some issues with one another, and although he gave Ethiopia a rapid boost in modernization during the first half of his reign, the country began to stagnate in the second half, partly because Sellasie would not even remotely consider to weaken his own power over his subjects.

>Speaking of Haille Selassie, could someone give me a brief overview of why he eventually was overthrown?

From what I remember, the direct cause was that he failed to satisfy the military when the country was on the brink of a revolt due to famine in the north and the Oil Crisis.

However, his status in Ethiopia had significantly fallen due to his failure to modernize the country and his authority was disregarded as he had previously backed down from one of his positions on modernization after a land owner had challenged it.

Inca > Aztec

They had a much larger territory and much more advanced technology. I mean fuck, they were peeking into the Bronze age when the Spanish came in, if they went on for another two hundred years they could have discovered the Tin in Bolivia and gone full bronze age. The Inca were pretty much the Rome of Injins

Niggos should stop claiming achievements of the Hamitic civilisations.

If not for trade with Berbers/Arabs/Horn they would be nothing. As primitive as Abbos, "Zanj".

Not Great Zimbabwe, they pretty much started from scratch other than their crops.

But if were going to use that logic the Europeans built their civilization off of the Semetic Civilizations
