That being said, I think Finland does have its own interesting mysteries apart from the mongol jokes. For instance - where did the original Fins come from before the Fin-Sami split?

Sami probably lived in Finland long before Finns came there. Sami have significant proto-Nordic genetic admixture, just like how Norse do. Finns, however, are actually remnant of Hunnic hordes that retreated into northeastern Europe after becoming irrelevant

On a more serious note, interesting as the new landmass in northwestern Europe would be it would also cripple global naval trade routes, not to speak of the fishing industry, and various other industries strictly dependent on the sea.
