I'm always telling people "you could totally do this too, just try it, it's hard at first but I promise you'll get the hang of it" and they're always like "oh no that would be categorically impossible for me lol I can't even draw a straight line!" I mean of course I realize they're just trying to compliment me so its shitty to be like NUH UH but its only non-artists (maybe sometimes envious lazy older artists whining about superior young talent) who do this. actual artists know how hard art is
I realize too of course that other people just don't enjoy it as much as I do. thats the only actual natural bonus I have, liking it enough to do it a lot. but improvement is its own motivating reward, so many people could be so good at so much shit if they werent convinced they can perfectly assess their potential skill in the absolute raw, before they even try
