Here's a simplified explanation of magnetism ;

Electricity is caused by the flow of electrons from one atom to another.

Each atom has one or more electrons which are spinning around protons (and possibly neutrons).

The electron in an atom has as a result of its continuous spin a kinetic force (exhibitng motion).

An electron which flows makes a flow field effect that we call magnetism. (quantum field or ether?)

Electric current flow = Magnetism (Force lines around and from the flow)

When the electrons are aligned in their spin so that they have the same direction across many

atoms they create the effect of electron flow within the material itself. The flow makes a magnetic field.

This is what a permanent magnet is. The conductive metals with similar properties will seek to

align themselves with the collective electron flow and become "magnetised".

Thomas Townsend Brown had a dream of one day travelling into outer space.

The propulsive effect not being fully understood,

Brown figured he could use electricity in the form of plasma for propelling rockets.

While in class, the teacher electrified a vacuum tube in which Brown noticed a very interesting effect.

Each time the electricity was activated or deactivated, the leads in the vacuum tube jumped.

This effect led Brown to believe that there was a better way to propel rockets using electricity…

There's a book on the subject which is a pretty rare find.

In the 1950's, information on these type of things became scarce

and it has seemingly remained so since then for most enthusiasts until recently,

when the internet made things easier for those looking up this type of information.

Only one library was known to contain this book and the book itself was unlisted,

making it one of the most difficult library books to get a hold of.

Since today it's now been a year since I took over the board I decided to make this thread.

The reformation was basically my idea to merge the more positive aspects of /x/ (or /fringe/) with /diy/ and other interesting boards with a broad enough theme that it could grow easily.

I had some good experience with style sheets and a clear vision of what would give the board its quality. I also had keen interest in hovercraft of various kinds and read a lot about exotic technologies.

This is a sophisticated art thread inspired by 8chan's 2nd birthday art contest. >>>/operate/38319

The premise of this thread is to explore art techniques and evolve art and graphics

or to draw hovercraft related art. Drawing tools, aesthetic analysis and constructive criticism fit in with this thread.

This thread is also for art contest entries.

I'm doing some small fixes to it. I realized that the deadline is for 10 PM edt

Yeah, the infinity next reply box being on the right side by default like the quick reply was bad enough in itself, but having it float around and resizable was a total gizmo bad idea. It might work for phones but most chan users I know of don't actively browse much using phones. I hope they only use it for quick reply and stick with the static reply box for the default regular look.

I've been a bit busy figuring out some things, reorganizing and reading through recent information to make way for new adjustments.

 No.230

Infinity Next has been having some big issues. I read something about a 3rd migration today. But the /hover/ skin looks good.

 No.232

Infinity Next is finally over. It was a terrible idea from the start and it was an uphill battle just trying to keep up with fixing the css for it to retain the familiar old layout. Every single time I had adjusted the css, something got changed which broke it. It was as if he was making it deliberately more and more difficult to keep the familiar old layout and making the users submit to using the "de facto" styling. He even went as far as adding forced style attributes to the html pages.

On the up side it helped me learn some more css tricks to counter the changes.

This board has now survived the Infinity Never debacle and even though it might be slow it will still go on.

Due to the 8chan migrations and continuing work on the site, its understandable if the party is interrupted.

There's a relatively new volumetric display in the making which will be one of the first to be used for actual gaming and practical use. It will be available in the stores soon.

Its operation is relatively simple, yet sophisticated. It is a moving display which light is projected upon to produce 3d images.
