- Fixes -

- The resolution problem is fixed for people who were playing in a 4:3 resolution things would be off to the side of where they actually were is one of the big ones that's finally been fixed. I was mostly waiting for Unity to update in some things to solve this problem.

- The problem with grabbing drag and drop objects and they'd go all wonky or be in the wrong place has been fixed.

- Problems with dialog going on the fritz or not showing up are fixed.

- Problems with menus locking up should be resolved.

It doesn't seem like a lot of stuff but those were some of the major issues I've wanted to fix for a while. While I was fixing so much anyways I decided to just to go in and overhaul or completely replace some systems while I had it all torn away anyways. The only major issue that needs to be fixed now is something with screen fades and tweens causing crashes. This is not critical but just annoying.

- Overhauls/Replacements -

- The capture, posting, and heists systems have been overhauled. They still play pretty much the same just fixed them up.

- The RNG for calculations has been replaced completely with a better system.

- The big one, the save system has been completely replaced as well and has been working find on every system I've tested it on.

I was trying to fix the saving issue and kept taking out more and more pieces to try to find it. Finally it was just easier to tear the whole thing out and replace it. So the benefit is a much better save system in place now at least under the hood for me to work with, it'll still look the same in the game for now. The downside is your old saves won't work anymore now.

When I was replacing the save system these last couple weeks I rolled the game back a bit because of another issue but I rolled back further than I thought and replaced the save system in that version. So basically I took out most of the stuff I had put in most of this month. It's still in another version though I just haven't had time to put it back in since I just finished fixing the saves on Friday. If you have played the game a lot it's better to wait for the next version. I'll put it out as soon as I can put all those new pieces back into the game.

Anyways the good thing is in the long run I probably saved some time totally replacing the save system now instead of in the future when it would be much larger and take more time. I'll probably stick with this save system to the end of the game now unless I see a better option that's not going to waste a ton of time to install.

Hopefully I can get the next build together in a week or two for you guys. It shouldn't take too long since it's all still in the other build of the game and I just have to copy what's there.

Its just bug fixes

"I haven't had a lot of time with everything going on right now to really sit down and dig through everything in the game. I've spent a little under a week with it lately but that doesn't add up to much. I've fixed some of problems that popped up in the last build. A lot of them are more deep seated with the update to Unity itself out dating libraries that the game has been running on. I use some plugins which I'm waiting on updates to fix most of these problems. I'm in contact regularly with the creators/devs and try not to duplicate what they are doing.

The main bugs causing problems are the fade screen and tween systems. Screen fade timing on a lot of the bigger scenes has just become erratic. It's most noticeable on the main city where a lot of calculations occur. It's not a major issue but an annoying one that causes it to lag or fade in too soon and seem really jerky. There are locks on what you can click on until the calculations are complete but sometimes it fades too quick and seems like it's frozen.

The tweening is the other one causing annoying problems. You'll notice it in the scenes with drag and drop objects or things moving around. I've noticed once or twice that the game has crashed if you're using text skip in certain places where it's tweening objects. The portraits aren't affected because they run on a newer tween library that wasn't effected. One thing that seems to cause it a lot is switching back and forth between costumes and then go back.

These seem like major issues but they aren't really anything. When updates are made to the plugins it's a simple matter of just replacing the older libraries, which is just deleting a folder and importing a new one. The code of the game isn't at fault or effected. It's just how Unity is trying to process it through these out dated libraries is causing the problems. Like you saw in 1.4 all of these things were running fine.

Another thing that was reintroduced is the UI overlapping again. This was an issue that I fixed before but it seems to be back again. I've gone through and fixed the obvious ones but there will probably still be some. What happens is the game seems like it freezes but it's just the UIs have overlapped and you can't click to send input since the wrong one is receiving information. This is not such a big deal but annoying since I've already fixed it once and the update has caused it again. Some scenes like Lex's Room and the Dance settings have a lot of buttons and elements for this to become a real pain to sort out.

I won't be updating Unity again with Injustice so there shouldn't be any new problems once these are solved. Updating the plugins will probably introduce some more issues but fix most of these. It's an annoying process for sure but for me alone to do the work of making all my own custom plugins would takes months and months of time.

The good news is that most of the more major issues I fixed with 1.5 are still fine. Something like the save bug was a much more concerning problem to me but it's unlikely to happen again and if it does I should be able to fix it quickly with the new system. The new save system is very similar to the old one just I made it into sections so I can see what goes wrong. The problem with the old one was everything was all in one giant block with hundreds of variables. So it will overwrite saves from all the previous builds.

I've been working on some sections of the game that still just aren't complete enough to be put in. In January I'm going to make a big push to complete the game sections programming at least. Then I just need to write in the scenes and art which is a lot easier to predict how long it'll take to do. I was trying to put back in some of the things that were taken out when I rolled it back but it's a lot harder to tell what was out and what was in. I'm probably just going to redo them from scratch since it's faster than trying to figure out what I was doing before. It'll still look the same but save me some time.

I'm not a big fan of putting out updates without any real content added to the game but it is what it is. When the game was first made through the first few updates it's easy to make progress and see it directly. Since I didn't have a lot of time I just fixed what I could and got the game to a point to be ready for work when I get back.

Six months or so is a long time to work on anything but things have turned out a lot better than I ever envisioned so far. The scale and scope of the game have become a lot more that I really ever though it would become. I'm looking forward to taking a break from the game and everything for a couple weeks then coming back with a fresh look at things."

Regarding Injustice. We are shelving the project at this point in order to get our affairs in order over on our Patreon. We have several options for Injustice that we will look into. One being releasing the source files to the community to finish, or two re skinning and completing the project. If we are to go with the second option, we need time to develop a plan and then execute that plan. So please your patients in regard to Injustice will be appreciated.

Any on going projects will be put on hold till next week when I will provide all my fans with an update as to the direction I intend to follow. If you have the amulet that gives you a +10% chance at doing things - and you use a villain who might give you a 100% capture chance on his own - this is what causes the game to crash. It can't handle capture chances over 100%. De-equip that amulet in Lex's bedroom.

Where on your computer are you running it from?

Failure to save is a common issue for games, it's normally caused by your computer blocking the program from writing to a file. First i'd move the game to the C drive, I have a folder C:\Games that I put all my games in. This allows you to run them with administrative privileges because it requires you to be the administrator to place the files there. then when i run a game I right click and "run as administrator". Sometimes you have to make sure none of the app extensions are being blocked as well by checking their properties but that's a rare issue, mostly just see that with game cracks because they are intentionally fooling a program, not because they are dangerous. A game in beta may have the same sort of issues where the computer can't verify if it's a legitimate program or malware with malicious intent, so it doesn't allow it to edit the save files. Play around with permissions, Should fix your issue.
