Boorus tend to use romaji names for artists. If we start submitting siblings for Pixiv artists and their Japanese names, would you prefer the dominant sibling to be the Japanese or romaji?

I'd prefer romaji just because I don't want to search tags with japanese characters.

 No.806

I feel strongly for mainly using the name that danbooru gives to artists.

I know I have at least one Japanese user, but since the vast majority of people who sync with my tag repo are English, and I have no ability to judge petitions over Japanese tags, I would say romaji.

If this becomes an issue in future, I can make a new form of sibling that puts the siblings on equal footing and lets the user decide what language they prefer.

PSA for the board: Pixiv importing doesn't pull in full size at all at the moment, it pulls in the medium size previews on the single-image pages. It is useful for getting the creator tags into the database but the images aren't worth keeping.

If the images isn't worth keeping, by definition the tag mappings aren't either.

Well of course the mappings are useless, but the tags themselves aren't, so far as someone wishes to tag manually and can remember the first few characters of a tag. Having a tag in the database will eliminate misspellings. These particular tags, however, are mostly kana and kanji.
