What sort of inductions do y'all enjoy the most, or find work particularly well for you? Personally I think story-based inductions work really well. Focusing on the story helps me drift off, and those tend to really get me into the sort of trance I shoot for. Examples would be stuff like The Contest by Nikki Fatale.

Some fag on another thread thought we should discuss hypnosis more, so there you go >>11770

These sand castles…

I really like introspection like induction, when hypnotist explains what she will do to me, tells me how her words starts to affect my thoughts, things like that.

If this is combined with soft whispers, I becomes instantly hooked to her voice and her words for the rest of session.

Good one is also conversation like induction (for example with rhetorical questions, eg. 20 Questions, partial in Cause & Effect), that way I can stop thinking about hypnosis and everything else and just align my thoughts with hypnotist words.

Story based induction is great too, but mostly when is related to session (like in The Contest or Cause & Effect), if is not related the sudden change in topic when induction ends can cause awareness of trance.

Ah, and I love these sneaky ones, like: What is square root of… SNAP!, or: I will count to 5 and then snap my fingers, 1…, 2…, 3…, SNAP!

Often, I'm aware that I'm being hypnotized and of my relaxed state but I'm also aware of my environment and often a bit too self-aware. That is to say, my conscious mind has a tendency to hang on in there even though I'm still feeling very relaxed. While this is fine, it seems to be a block on really letting go. For me the most effective inductions are those that take me inside myself, so that I can focus on a scene that is being vividly described, a bit like the mind drifting off before you fall sleep. The idea is to keep the conscious mind occupied while you enter a trance state. For me, keeping my conscious mind occupied is always the hardest part and a well-described story/scene seems to be most effective at doing this.

I had to work real hard to get hypnoed. The first induction that worked was IV's Fairy Panties one; it overloaded my introspection, so I could let go.

It has the listener stare at a spot on the ceiling, have them count down, and suggests their arm raising - then dropping as a visible effect of going into trance.

I like control and mechanical effects to induction/trance, since I'm more introspective than Godel's first incompleteness theorem (I'm really proud of this lame joke, btw) and tend to second-guess myself. An arm raising, 'try to open your eyelids', or me getting up and doing things at a 'tist's command puts those cares to rest and lets me enjoy myself.

I noticed, that for me inductions that require me to actively participate not only mentaly, but albo physically work best, that allows me to focus on tist's voice better (like Elena's Long Resistance Inductions)

 No.12477

confusion inductions, story is good too

the others barely work for me, pmr is so cliche

 No.12505

can someone recommend some good confusion induction files?

 No.12527

See why we never discuss these things, op?

How so? It's a fairly old thread and has had some useful input. I don't know if you contributed to one of the longer posts but if so, well done. Perhaps you'd also like to help out poster >>12505 with his/her question.

This one is pretty good (I dont think her other files are freely available)

Elena has couple that use confusion, cant check now for names.

Nothing else comes to mind, maybe Ember from Spiralseductions

 No.12601

I like them long with multiple layers of counting down and progressive relaxation, some imagery and maybe some degree of confusion/distraction (like count down to yourself from 100, skipping each odd number), plus some degree of binaurals, music, or echos.

I'm not a fan of fractal inductions that "wake you up" around three times or so during the induction with the idea that they'll say a trigger phrase to bring you back into trance. I'm sure it works great for some people, but, while opening my eyes and being back in my bedroom or basement doesn't always completely snap me out of it, I'm feeling I'm not going as deep as I could if I just kept my eyes shut all along. I prefer inductions that keep my eyes closed.

I didn't use to care for text-to-speech, but some of the voices are getting more natural. For TTS, I don't need or even want total vocal realism, just as long as it doesn't sound like I'm being hypnotized by Stephen Hawking.

text to speech? how? if it loses all the pacing, how can it still work on you?

 No.12625

>>12612

>pacing

Well, yeah, the text-to-speech file has to be very well done for it to have any effect on me, where they make sure the pacing matches a human-voiced file not to mention spelling some words out phonetically if just spelling them normally produces weird pronounciations. I think some modern TtS programs also allow some degree of intonations (i.e. voice rising or falling during a sentence) so that things sound a little less monotone.

I also generally prefer it when TtS files use some kind of pitch adjustment to make it sound a little more "human", for an uncanny valley effect, but, in this case, the uncanny valley works in its favor, for me at least. Like it sounds weird so I pay more attention, if that makes sense.

 No.13860

anyone try temple tapping inductions? you induce trance by tapping the temples at certain pressue points and rythms. Looking for files like this.

 No.13875

For me it's easier to say what I don't like in an induction.

I don't like keeping my eyes open. The first thing I do after hitting play is close my eyes. It irks me to be told to open them and focus on a spot.

I don't like inductions that require me to do confusing and impossible things. After enough requirements are added that the mental task becomes impossible, I start to panic as I hate to fail. Panicing is not condusive to relaxing and going under..

I hate to be told to move. Raising an arm or whatever breaks the mood.

I hate being told when to breathe out or in. Again I get in a panic when I feel like I'm not getting enough air breathing at the specified rate.

And finally .. I hate being told to chant or talk.
