Just chanced upon this flick on one of those Doordarshan variants. I'm from south and had to read subtitles, but I still remember losing my shit to that phonecall he makes to his wife before taking his seat on the train.

This one's a total mindfuck. I understand Tamil though I can't write it. So I don't know how effective it will be with subtitles.

The tamil used is pure poetry, since the main protagonist is post-grad Tamil literature loser, and the whole flick makes you thoroughly uncomfortable.

Gulaal had a really tight script and could have been really fuckin gr8 if not for the newbie boy in lead and the 2 girls. Those 3 people brought down the quality immensely.

That being said, Kay Kay was god-tier & Abhimanyu Singh's character, Ransa stays with you for a long time..the prince without a kingdom. And these four other veterans who make up the magnificient 6 of Gulaal makes it a must watch.
