With the first day being a success I'd like to remind people of a few things.
The first one is probably the most important. This is NOT a competition against the 4CC. 8chan is supposed to be it's own thing and not 4chan + fuck 4chan and this should be the same. In one of the early matches one of the commentators read out posts from 4chans cup general and boasted about how we have more viewers than the /vg/ league (which is not really an accomplishment as it is just for one board instead of the entire website) which really disappointed me. This is not a dickswinging contest for viewers.
This brings me to the second point. The viewer count was massively inflated. While the around 600 viewers we got are amazing a lot of those are not from 8chan. We were on the hitbox frontpage and for the first few games we were at around 300 viewers, which is still very good mind you, but it only really shot up once someone posted threads about it on 4chans /4ccg/, /pol/ and /mlp/.
This brings me to my third and last point. Don't post about this on 4chan. This is supposed to be about 8chan and not about how we should rub in 4chans face about how much better we are. Posting it there will do nothing but bring unnecessary spam to the hitbox chat. We should not focus on one upping 4chan. We should should focus on entertaining 8chan. Don't forget that this is about fun.
TL;DR: Don't care too much on 4chan and the 4chan cup.
