Here is a collection of a bunch of attempts at team foundations

>>>/cuteboys/97048 (Throwing an idea to admins, not a thread)

>>>/just/2228

>>>/m/8808

>>>/islam/7167

>>>/n/83339

/cow/ has no mentions of picking players on their meta but has a thread here

I just found these via searching a few boards on 8archive so some of the threads might be outdated, report your findings here so we can send them our best graphical design fags there. Or in fact, help your board make one, I'm sure we had a /deutsch/ and a /pinoy/ guy, besides, we should get the entire top 25 into the cup much as possible, visit /tech/, /fit/, /r9k/ or /mu/? Make a thread as well

 No.2599

>>2598

Get some threads going in /mu/ and /tech/ as well as some other Top 25s that don't have a team.

Also. appreciate the work anon!

 No.2601

>>2598

that's a good idea

link new team threads here

 No.2602

>>>/fit/50829

/fit/ has a thread going on. Throwing around goalhorn, anthems, player names, and team logos.

 No.2603

New thread started.

>>>/tech/280499

 No.2608

>>>/r9k/47031

/r9k/ thread.

It seems like 32 team cups would be fairly doable

Should we do a 16 team babby or skip Autumn and do a 32 team Winter Cup?

 No.2610

/his/ has a thread!

>>>/his/23161

 No.2612

I designed /sp/'s new logo, I can put together a few designs if any of the smaller boards need one

 No.2617

So who wants to go make that thread on /cuteboys/ so we get them vs /fit/, tell them winner gets butt plugs.

Ok, maybe think about posting here more often or clean up the browpill thread to show people your still doing it just waiting.

 No.2641

>>2640

I don't have mod abilities so all I can really do is sage which really doesn't solve the problem. That's Saviour's job.

Anywho it seems /n/ has a roster set and there are people looking to make kits and an export for them so that's team #1 in the first expansion so for now once teams get finalized, please repost them in this thread along with team music.

Also let's get some ideas going for event formatting and what you'd all want to see if we do events in the Fall and Winter.

>tfw have to get wisdom teeth out and may be out of commission (in terms of leaving my house) for 10 days in Winter

I will have a LOT of free time if I do it then unless surgery numbs my mouth forever, then ill need someone else to lead commentate.

 No.2642

>>2641

Also we should look into people who were interested in making stadiums, faces and kits for teams.

If anyone is interested please express interest here.

Also for teams who played in /icup/ I, polls will need to be done to determine rosters going into Infinity Cup II so if anyone here even goes on any of those 16 boards who played in Summer and want to at least help update the roster and music please do so before September as I will work on making a new default preset and want to also get a list of board reps for all the current and newcoming teams as well as a list of all volunteers helping out in the last 4 month as well as those who may come help in the future.

Dibs on Burg Stadium (ID 20) and skin colors IDs 14 to 28 for /pone/.

Are games played with winter or summer stadium settings?

 No.2644

>>2643

We can alternate for each season played.

Summer is open and Winter is closed dome/whatever settings make it Christmasy.

 No.2646

>>2644

Reason I'm asking is because in winter players can wear gloves to cover up hand skin color, but this is fine too.

 No.2647

>>2642

Cotton, do you have any intentions to allow real time managing any time soon? Since constantly stopping the game would be annoying like they do in American Football, I was thinking maybe doing it like Tennis, where the "coaches" I guess through the skype chat, are allowed 3 (+ halftime) instances where they can stop the game, change formations, tactics, players etc?

What do you think? Do you think its too much of a hassle? I think it would make it less "rigged", since now responsibility lies on the "coach" not so much the streamer.

 No.2648

>>2647

Okay well here's the thing. Early into /icup/ when people were planning the event there was originally going to be live managing and CPUs for teams without managers with the default rules. However an idea came up that it may be better to get rid of live managing for a vast number of reasons and that's what we went with.

Looking at our counterpart's method of having live managers for each team it's easily seen that quote on quote "manager autism" has been something that many viewers there believed affected the intensity of the matches and made the games drag on for a bit too long with the frequent pauses, especially when there were 0-0 games or there are 6 timeouts or more, so we thought it would be better if there were set changes that could be made that the host can easily do fast and to the best of his ability so that the best possible changes are made that would keep the game progressing fair and also not dragging on and slowing down the viewing of the matches as they are the main event of /icup/, not the break times.

Another thing I notice when live managers get used is that there is a lot of competition that go on between them and competition is not a bad thing however this can cause unnecessary drama and autism that spur away from the point of the event which is to put on a fun show for the viewers and this drama is how you get manager/volunteer circlejerks and internal divisions which do nothing but harm to all the volunteers and put on unnecessary stress for everyone involved. That's why we decided on using "Team Reps" who export the strategy and not have a chance to test so they are inclined to use a strategy that the board may want or something that looks cool, unique, funny and interesting that the boards anons may enjoy and have some laughs about.

/icup/ is a community driven event for the community, not a competition per say, and everything we do is for the anons and whoever wins the Cup wins the Cup and the point really shouldn't be about who wins and who loses but about having a fun time and getting some enjoyment and having a wee bit of fun out of a silly little video game stream. I am doing my best to look into further fixing host rules for subs so that they are as fair as humanly possible so I hope you all can understand why we want to format /icup/ the way it is so that we can keep it as purely an entertainment event and not as an "esports" competition.

Also in case nobody saw yet we have moved matchday recordings to DailyMotion where Saviour is uploading single games during his free time: http://www.dailymotion.com/icupofficial

 No.2655

>>2648

No I get that, I can see how we dont want the ICup to become some ASSFAGGOTS e-sport, hell, that would be annoying as shit. But I think adding allowing at least 1 instance in the match per team (+ halftime) to change tactics could make the game more interesting.

Say you're winning 1-0, its late match, you wanna change the formation to a more defensive approach while your opponent changes it to a more offensive one. I think it could bring about some interesting elements to the game, and 2 pauses (+halftime) isn't that intrusive as say 6 pauses (+halftime).

Only something to consider is all. Either way the ICup was a success and interest seems to be slowly building up across the boards.

As far as manager autism goes, I don't see any way to fix that, lets face it, imageboards have a variety of autists with the added benefit of being behind a computer screen. However, if we can keep manager intervention as something low-key that can still impact the game like mentioned previously, we can at least curb full on autism.

Anyways, thats my 2cents on the matter, also you mentioned the possibility of new commentators. Do you plan to hold like auditions or something like that? I mean, sometimes, the streams would get people that had trouble speaking english or would just sperg out, that isn't really enjoyable for the audience.

 No.2657

>>2655

To be honest I kind of wish there was a possible way to have more strategical input for teams, however I just don't know if it's possible without making it competitive and I'd say it's better to not take a risk, however if there is any other things that could be done pre-game (like set piece of instructions that apply to all games played that is attached with the team like when to go defensive and offensive or to keep the normal strategy) then maybe it could work, however I still would like to talk that over and see if there's any better ideas. But for sure we'll do our best to consider your points anon.

Also since commentary wasn't the best for a lot of the matches, your absolutely right about the quality as well as myself not being the best lead commentator ever, I probably will hold auditions for /icup/ II color commentary, however if someone wants to stream prelim games in October/November for all the newcomer teams and maybe some derbys then they can set their own rules.

In regards to when we can do /icup/ II, it may be hard to do with my current schedule and if I get a new job coming up that will require me to work a lot during the holidays, so what I may do is ask for 3 days off, from January 1st to 3rd, and maybe keep /icup/ II as a single KO bracket tournament unless more streamers show up who want to do group stages before that weekend since I definitely won't be available because school and work.

Also in the meantime I'm gonna make a new thread regarding roster polls and looking for anyone who wants to team rep or re-declare their team rep status from last Cup so I can make a pastebin of volunteers to throw onto the sticky.

Hey Cotton, you know any way to reach Rarifag?

 No.2671

>>2657

Interesting point, maybe having some pre-made tactics like you mentioned could work and add some level of control over given situations, and the match doesn't have to be interrupted, that does seem the best alternative to my point.

As far as commentary goes, your commentary was fine, you don't have pacing issues, your voice is not annoying and you can speak the language so its fine.

Yeah, we'll have to find a way to work around your schedule, I mean if /tech/ is joining, someone must have a strong enough PC to fucking stream right?

Also, how is the new addition of teams going? From what I've gathered /n/, /tech/ & /cow/ seem to be the most promising ones, any news on /b/ and other large boards?
