Repostan from thread in /cyber/.

This document is the earliest writing about what chans are and why they are superior done by someone from inside the culture I know. I even think it'is pretty much chan bible:

Do you have more? I really like reading this stuff, even if it's done by outsiders.

In my perusing the histories of the chans I found this and another wiki I don't have link for to be good sources.

Though I'm told it is a bit romanticized. Also, /tg/ seems to have a few historians that could spin a tale. Fuckton of them are oldfags, even a few from the boards original founding out of /b/'s WH40k Thursdays. Or was it Tuesdays.

Found it. Derp, obvious one. Has links aplenty.

The current bias is real.

Shii's arguments have been debunked over and over, even in that thread on /cyber/. Chans are not superior to forums.

I think it applies to the internet as a whole, tbh. Before social media I felt like I had a secret hiding place where I could go to where all people like me would congregate.

Using the internet today, in comparison, feels dirty? There is an absence of homeliness. I'm sure that the outcasts of society long for a tight-knit place that they could finally say they belong in. I'm just sad for the outcasts of the future, who will not be able to turn to the internet for solace…

You can find a secret website but it will never be truly insulated. The world changes together, ideas become different. The entire landscape shifts.

Here is another one that seems to be less 14yo.

I wonder if there are any good places on the darknet.

We have unlisted boards here. The greatest thing about fullchan is that one may revel in the protection of obscurity. Like nobody but us curious folk would ever find /longcat/.

Some based motherfucker mirrored the entire site here: http://bibanon.org/everything-shii-knows/
