So as a manlet will any form of improvement just be seen as compensation? Should I even bother if that is the case?

 No.1035

>>1033

Even if you were tall, self improvement would be seen as compensation for a poor childhood, small dick, ugliness, or any other explanation.

Those who avoid the path to a better self will always rationalize the motivations of the others as the most negative one.

>Those who avoid the path to a better self will always rationalize the motivations of the others as the most negative one.

Makes sense.

You wanna be a a pudgy unskilled manlet, or just a manlet?

You want to improve, then improve.

How tall are you?

>>1035
Can confirm. And ugliness is on the point. I hate my face so much. I wish someone would mutilate it even more so that others could finally stop trying to convince me that it's not ugly.

But no room for that! Elliot couldn't get himself a girlfriend despite having pretty nice looks (he seemed to have a contrary opinion based on his heritage but I really thought he was attractive). No excuses allowed though, etc.

By some, sure. But you're not able to please them, because you can't get tall.

You're doing it for yourself first and the rest of the world second.

Would you like yourself if you were a fat, lazy, unskilled manlet? Do you like yourself now?

Would you like yourself more if you worked out, had hobbies and dedicated yourself to a passion?

Failing that, would you have time to hate yourself if you did that stuff?

Relying on external validation is not the way to go.

You should not care about what other people think about you, why? Because no matter what you do, whether it's train your ass off all day and be the most productive motherfucker you can be, or lie all day crying all day about being a little shorter, people will always judge you. No matter what you do, there will be people that will dislike you or people that will size you up, that's just life, it happens to all of us.

The only person that you need to prove anything to you is yourself, not to your friends, not to your family and definitely not to strangers on the internet, but to you. In your life you are the most important and it's you that will ultimately have to live with your mistakes and regrets. As the proverb goes "If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do us no harm".

Fuck it man, go all out and become the strongest version of yourself.

With all of this said, I have a 5'4 friend who is currently dating the hottest girl we knew back in highschool, and it's not his first qt either, this one came straight after the last one. Why is he successful? Because he doesn't carry himself like an insecure retard, he's a funny and charismatic dude and doesn't really care too much about his height, or if he does, he doesn't cry about it all day.

Seriously, don't listen to /fit/ on this one. /fit/ isn't an accurate representation of real life.

People will ascribe whatever they choose as to the reason for your actions. Not your responsibility.

 No.1118

>>1116
This.

Also, for all you know people will view your self improvement as admirable and inspirational, not because you are a manlet but just because in general, you are putting work and effort into improving yourself.

I guess so none of these people are doing anything for me to begin with maybe I should just completely disregard others opinions of me. The only person I got is myself at this point.

5'10"

I decided to get started either way because why not? I should at least give my self a chance. Already completely cleaned my entire room which was a absolute trainwreck and organized it. Also started walking/jogging 30 minutes a day every morning. Studying to get a license now and shoveled some driveways passed few days made about 70 dollars in total. I will do small odd jobs till I can get a starting job to make my NEET ass useful for a change, who knows maybe doing something small for someone might lead to something bigger.

I've always been insecure about things out of my control like my height but there are things I can change and I have no reason not to at least put effort into them. I did get some self satisfaction from doing something as simple as cleaning my room. I imagine once I complete more long term goals that satisfaction will only increase.

Shit dude, by the way you made it sound I thought you were 5'2" or something. 5 foot 10 is not a bad height to be at, especially considering the average height of a woman is 5'4", at least last time I checked.

>I've always been insecure about things out of my control like my height but there are things I can change and I have no reason not to at least put effort into them.

Fucking this, you're 100% right.

Keep it up man. Being productive feels great!

5'4" reporting in.

 No.1178

5' 8" here and I do great with chicks.

The important part is that you accept your height. Being insecure is way more unattractive than being below average height. Be confident enough in it that you could joke about it if someone brought it up. Besides, you're still taller than most girls.

Even if she's taller than you, with some balls you can still swing it. I dated a model in NYC for a while that was a few inches taller than me because I wasn't thinking about her being taller than me all the time.

It's the 5' 2" guys who really have it rough, but even for them it's doable. I've seen tiny men do great with chicks just because they were confident and kinda crazy.

I actually don't care about women least not right now I have no where near the finances nor the appeal for that. I just wanted to be treated with some amount of respect, I feel like my height might be something that will counter anything I do but than I realized well maybe I wanted to improve at the start for the wrong reasons. I'm going to improve myself regardless now literally have nothing to lose, besides some weight of course.

6'4'' reporting in. It's not fun. I hit my head on shit constantly, I can't buy shoes in store because nobody stocks size 16, and so on.

Then work on your posture. I notice a lot of short guys have terrible posture and that just makes them look even smaller. I don't mean you've gotta have military grade, straight as a stick posture. That style doesn't work for most people. Look up and do some basic posture exercises and carry yourself strongly. Take up space and have a presence. It feels awkward at first, especially if you're coming from slouching constantly, but once you get used to it you realize it feels really damn good.

Good posture affects how people look and you and treat you in a huge way. No exaggeration, I'm pretty sure my posture has kept my ass from getting jumped more than once.

I did notice a difference how I'm seen now when I changed my posture, the way people look at me is changed. I didn't realize how much of a difference that would make I'm going to work on body language as well.

I have a 5 inch penis. Despite improving my computer skills, my social skills, my personal appearance and hygeine, and my musical skills, I'll often fly into a fit of rage because I know there's one thing I just can't change. I think it's probable I do it all because of that and it even makes me more frustrated because I have a taste for self improvement now, but it's still worth it. I was a wreck before. Honestly, the girl I'm with now probably likes me for my improvements as well.

5'8" reporting in, where I live it's about average. being tall helps in some situations but overall your mindset will do much more for you.

 No.2093

I'm not a manlet, but this is my opinion.

Why is compensation necessarily bad? If you act like a dick, trying to be alpha and prove yourself at every opportunity, that is bad. If you want to compensate for a defect, but remain humble, that is good.

This is like asking "should ugly people work out?". They will still be ugly in the face. But a ugly face with a good body is better than 100% shit and ugly. Same goes for "manlets". If you are short, why not improve your body? A short fat man is a joke to everyone.

I think the important thing is attitude. I've met a lot of manlets who seem to compensate for their size by being overly boisterous and arrogant. They try to make up for their small stature with "personality". These people are cunts and they are giving all short people a bad name, because we remember the cunts more than we remember the people who were just cool.
