>>1105In my opinion you shouldn't cut PC time altogether but moderate how often you use it.
Believe me, it's much easier and much more efficient to slowly shave off computer time and replace it with productive activities than it is to simply cut it off altogether and expect that you will spend all that time being productive, which may be true to an extent, you will no doubt spend your time more wisely, but will it be efficient? Probably not.
The fact that in your life going on the computer is probably an established habit is actually an advantage to you now, especially if you happen to spend a significant amount of time on it. When setting up new habits one of the things you need is a trigger, basically a habit you already established that will support your new habit by reminding you to do your new habit. For example if I wanted to do push ups I'd make my trigger going to the bathroom, so every time I take a piss, I do 10 push ups afterwards. In this case, you can use your computer time as a trigger for any habit you are trying to start.
In relation to habits, another thing you need to know is that you need to start small. Small enough that you will 100% do it. By starting small and gradually increasing the effort, not only do you insure that you don't burn out or quit but you will also, successfully form a new habit.
So this is what you should do:
If now you spend 8 hours on the computer, lower it down to 6 for the first week and spend it establishing new habits, remember to start small on them too. For the second week, go on the computer for only 5 hours a day and increase the effort on your new habits. Third week 4 hours and again, increase the effort and on and on and on until you end up with only 1 hour of computer time a day, in which case you can either continue and bring it down to zero or keep that 1 hour. Also, every time you do one of your new habits, after you finisih them, reward yourself, you can simply say "I'm awesome for doing this" and that would technically coutn as a reward.
So all in all
>Use computer time as reminder to start new habit>Start small on new habits>Reward yourself with a simple "well done" every time you finish>Gradually increase thje effort
