Hello /improve/. I have a bit of a strange question. Is there anything I can read that can help me truly understand math? I feel as though throughout my education, I have been simply following rules without putting much thought into the why's and how's. Is there anything that explains the logic of mathematics and such? Webm highly unrelated.

I too would be interested in this. I too just feel like I have been following rules without any deeper understanding.

I used to read introductory mathematics books at my uni for the very reason you describe. A university library will always have a collection of good mathematics books. I'm talking about introduction to proofs, linear algebra etc. There are lists on the internet of good "teach yourself" mathematics books that explain things for a beginner but also go rigorous.
