I've wondered for a little while now, would a small minor change like standing a majority of the time go a long way? I've been overweight most of my life lost about 4 lbs to past 2 weeks in fat (got to lose 33 lbs in total) but wondering could the main reason be I have this extra weight is because I've been sitting down most of my life? I really don't eat much least I don't think I do.
I'd could rearrange my setup at work and home for my computer so I can stand and work if this would help me from gaining weight in the future.

I don't know about weight but sitting too much is bad for health.

>>1605>I really don't eat much least I don't think I do.Start counting your calories. I'm trying to gain weight and I used to think the opposite, that I was eating a lot, but when I started counting I realised I wasn't eating nearly enough I just thought I was. Who knows, you probably do not eat a lot but either way, get in the habit of counting your calories so you know for sure, the simple act of counting calories can in itself help you not go over your daily calorie limit.

I'd so want a treadmill desk. Like I would set it to this incredibly slow speed, so it's not exhausting or anything. But just moving a little little bit is so much better than just standing still.

>>1679This so much. Standing in one place for extended periods fucking sucks and is unnatural. A slow walk is much easier on the body that standing.
Working in kitchens, I always felt less pain in my legs when I was busy (moving around constantly), than slow (standing at my station).

Since going straight from NEET to doing 10 hour nightshifts, I've lost 24lbs over the last 4months.
Feels fucking great.

Eh late reply this board is slow anyway but I've lost some weight since making this thread. Decided to go on a diabetic diet (even though I am not a diabetic). About 3 inches off my waist are gone, got a few more too go.
I've been standing more often but not all the time. Feel like it has helped to a degree getting up every 10 to 20 minutes.

Try getting this, instead of whole desk. I got it made at carpenter, it's same as in the pic just bigger for desktop pc and mouse/keyboard.
You also should get something like yoga mat to stand on, because it's soft.
Just beware your heels will kill for a week.
One more thing, make it so, your arms at 90 degrees, even a little bit higher.
If you make it too tall, you an easily shorten it.

Forgot to mention that I "programmed" a little warning message using Windows Task Scheduler to show up after 40 minutes of computer use. After the message, I lock (Win+L) the workstation (which resets the timer) and I walk around for 5-10 minutes and try to get some fresh air.
