No.1778
Hey /improve/ just a really quick question. I've been lifting for almost a year now, and improving my diet in order to get those sick grils and to help my self esteem.
But I feel like my self esteem has worsened ever since I started lifting. Before it was pretty bad, but now I just feel more aware of my bad self esteem, it really hasn't improved. Has anyone else experienced this? Wat do?
Am I gonna make it brah ;_;

>>1778Contrary to popular belief lifting won't fix your problems. You probably lack purpose. True purpose that has some sort of meaning anyway.
Lifting is hobby-tier No.1796
If you were bad before, you may get worse before you get better.
Think of it like this, you follow several stages of failing:
Stage 1: Everything is fine
Stage 2: Oh shit I have a problem
Stage 3: The problem is still there and is starting to affect other areas of my life
Stage 4: Extreme anxiety, oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck, this is a mega huge problem and I have to fix it if I ever want to do anything with my life
Stage 5: Null zone: you go into deep depression, NEET, drug addiction, or some other coping mechanism that allows you to stop feeling bad about the problem.
If you were down at stage 5, then its going to be hard as shit to get back out because you have to go all the way back up the ladder. Thats why depression and long periods of NEET can be so crippling. They keep you from feeling all the bad shit. When you start to actually try again, all of those emotions will come flooding back in. It sucks but you gotta push through.
