So I've recently gotten this brilliant idea to freelance on American sites as a Polish technical writer and translator, because native. Thanks to the high rate of USD these days I'd charge pretty competitively, so I don't think I'd have much of a problem. I'd probably only need to get a CAE or CPE cert, if anything. Would I still count as a "legal person or 18 years old" if I can be a legal person here with parental consent, or does US law apply?
Any sites that don't require 18 years of age instead of Odesk and eLance, or am I fucked?

Either lie and check out the money when you're 18, use someone's else account to check out the money or earn money through a service where you can remove it through anonymous means such as paypal, bitcoins etc.
You'll lose some money in the conversions but that's your best shot at working online while being underage.

People of a young age can start there own companies so if you work as an independent company then the company gets paid and then you can either pay yourself as a wage or dividend (I recommend a combination of both to get the lowest amount of tax).
In the UK there are people as young as 16 that own their own companies.

If you are of legal working age in your country then any outsourcing done to your JailBait corporation will only be affected by local law (it's how large companies like Nike use sweatshop and child labour in other countries).
