 No.2471

Hello, i wanted to ask you guys what i could do about my jaw. I saw some old pictures of me and it wasn't always like this.As far as i can tell, i used to have a normal jaw as a kid. When i was younger i fell and landed straight on my chin and i can remember that there was a lot of blood but i can't remember exactly what happened.I also have 2 bones sticking out of either side of the chin, but i'm not sure if it was caused by the fall.

What do you recommend, outside seeing a doctor? If i go to a doctor, what kind of treatment should i expect?

 No.2474

Your jaw seems fine.

 No.2475

Not OP, but I have a similar problem.

Back when I was a little kid, I had the reflex to put my upper teeth on my lower lip. This stunted the growth of my lower jaw to the point that I look jawless, or at least very very sad (ever heard of long faces? Mine doesn't stop until the shirt, for it blends with the neck) when I am feeling normal.

The only saving throw I could have from here is to grow a beard to make my chin look sharper, but I can't grow a beard that's not a neckbeard for the life of me.

Should I go get surgery, anons? I will post pics tomorrow, after I shave.

Looks fine to me dude. What are you talking about?

I recommend you get hella swole

I looked in the mirror to compare and my chin protrudes a bit more, but I can't find anything overtly abnormal about you from the pictures. You look fine.

We would need to see a picture of your full face to actually give advice about your Jawline. You can get away with an under or over developed jawline sometimes based on your upper facial structure.

You look pretty young, might be worth getting some bracers while you are still growing.

I have a deviated septum, so I can't really breathe through my nose, since only one nostril is really open. Considering having surgery to correct it, but this made me a mouth breather as a kid. Made my chin less pronounced as a result. Not much I can do about it, but keeping my jaw closed and my tongue against the roof of my mouth does seem to help

The key is even pressure across the top of the pallet.

Via Wolff's Law, this pressure MAY help remodel the jaw as the bone tissue gets recycled over the course of a year or so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolff's_law

wait so how does pushing your tongue against the roof of your mouth and breathing out your nose give you a better jaw?

 No.4600

It makes your jaw grow forward instead of downward. You don't have long face then, which is usually ugly if you check the beauty standard ratios. The problem is, you had to do it when you were 7-9 when you face had been growing. There are also many other benefits of keeping your tongue on palate all the time and breathing only through nose so you should definitely do that, but it won't impact your face much anymore as it doesn't grow that much at this point.

You can, however, change your face tremendously with face yoga exercises. They work always on anyone at any age. One that works after just a week and gives you more manly jaw is protruding your lower jaw and then looking on ceiling while the neck remains straight. You should feel some strain on the sides of your jaw.

Don't overdo it. Also, if you feel strain only on one side, it means you chew more with this side and it's more developed. Perhaps you had pain in teeth for half a year and you get used to chewing on one side or smth. If it's true, then control yourself by taking photos at the beginning and during the week because you don't want to have rough jaw on one side, and girly on another. And these exercises actually change your face enough to confuse people as they notice you changed.

Combine with lymphatic massage, freezing water on face, green tea and facial masks for improved results (just no freezing water right before mask because you close pores)

OP shut up. Your jaw is fine.

I have NEVER noticed someone jaw before. I mean, unless you have some gruesome scar or are literally chinless, then no one would look funny at you.

We should all stop restricting ourselves by these ridiculous standards society imposes so that the surgeons and cosmetics corporations could make money. If this keeps going on in 10 years people will be insecure about the width of their earlobes.

Come on, jawlines are pretty important.

 No.4711

How? Unless you're a chinless weasel then no one will give a fuck.

It's just another one of those things the beauty companies slips in to make everyone feel insecure.

>It's just another one of those things the beauty companies slips in to make everyone feel insecure.

Someone is more attractive if they have a good jawline. Just because you don't consciously make a point of noting it, doesn't mean you aren't subconsciously picking it up. Do you always analyse the face of every goodlooking person you see? Of course not, but just from looking at them you can see they are attractive, one of the things that contributes to that is a jawline among other things.

You are right though that people here should stop being insecure but lets not pretend it's not a factor that contributes to attractiveness.

Personally, as much of a meme as this is to say, personality and how you carry yourself is a bigger factor than how chiseled your jaw is.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to obtain a better jaw. Your face is what people are going to look at most of the time and going to be one of the most aesthetically-defining parts of your body. It's also important for posture, chewing, breathing, etc.
