Anyone here tried taking vitamin tablets or supplements such as Zinc/Iron?

I'm curious whether there's actually a noticeable benefit or whether they're just for lazy twats who don't exercise or eat properly. They always seem horrendously over-priced too. That said, i know a few people who swear by them

Vitamins are things your body needs op, if you have too little of them you get sick, if you have too many of them you get sick. You need to contain. Supplements are shit, do not EVER try them out, theyre not FDA approved and theyre the equivallent of sawdust and filler.

Zinc and Iron are metals that your body physically needs, you can get them from red meats and chick peas. There is no vitamin pills are necessary if you have a deficiency, obviously, but unless its a condition or a disease you can easily get them by a change of diet. Those people who swear by them are most likely suffering from the placebo effect of the drug, nothing else. A 'miracle cure' is just that, a miracle, and i doubt god is going to spend his time making pills for idiots to buy

i take 2 x 500 mg vit C as ascorbic acid before sleep helps revitalize my skin and removes wrinkles near my eyes.

with that i take Iron sulfate 200 mg every now and then just after the Vit C as it helps absorbing iron

Some 'supplements' like 5htp and melatonin are more or less real drugs that the FDA won't let doctors prescribe you on weird technicalities, and those I find useful.

Besides that I hear they aren't a great way to absorb nutrients. You know what IS a great way to ensure you're getting all your vitamins (outside of eating well?) Breakfast cereal. Do your research, take a look at the side of the box, and you will find that the better ones are packed with vitamins and minerals, especially the ones that are a little harder to find in food sources. I have always bought breakfast cereal, it is very cheap, and I have great health even in times where I can't afford to stock my fridge with a lot of different vegetables and fruits.
