How does one cope with failure?

For example, I keep failing to stick to the routine I've designed for myself. When I fail, I feel very worthless and it discourages me from trying to achieve again. A particular instance of failure usually isn't so bad, but repeated failures tend to defeat me psychologically. This is a problem I and many others have had for many years, but it's only recently have I begun to identify it as a major obstacle in my life. This anxiety about failure also goes hand in hand with feelings of inadequacy and self-loathing which leads to depression and apathy. It's a toxic concoction of emotions that inhibits my will to change, but I still don't know how to really deal with it.

Try a different method. Start smaller if you have to. This shit isn't a science, you just have to find something that works for you.

A key thing I've found though is that you should have an end game. What are you trying to achieve with your routine? Specify.

Think of failure as another tool in your belt that will help you achieve greatness. It's probably one of the most useful ones if you know how to use it right.

When you fail, don't beat yourself up, instead question why you failed, why thinks went wrong and how you can make sure they won't go wrong again. Use it to help you figure out the best strategy possible to fix your situation. You shouldn't beat yourself up over it because you aren't doing anything that other people out there, even the greatest of the great haven't done before. Every great person out there has failed numerous times, the difference between you failing and them failing is that they didn't take it to heart, they used it figure out how they can improve and enhance their strategy. That is what you should start doing too.

I think you should start journalling, it's good for depression and anxiety and goes hand in hand with everything I said above. Use it to vent but also to try and figure out why you are the way you are and think of solutions in overcoming your problems.

Out of pure interest, what are your current goals?
