'Difficult, improvement questions with no obvious answer' thread

 No.3792

How do I have conversations?

How do I find motivation for life?

How do I make friends with people who aren't motivated to improve?

>How do I have conversations?

It's a numbers game. Don't go after a single person. Find groups of people that converge together out of their own volition. In normalfag talk it's called parties but people get interested in hobbies and other interests in their own time. You have to find an interest, find a group that caters to this interest and seek them.

College can be an example. People go there, hopefully, to learn and/or improve their lives. It's generally a positive and easy atmosphere and they are less guarded. Of course, the numbers game also works against you here as there are a ton of shitasses attending but you get the idea.

>How do I find motivation for life?

Write a list of everything you could possibly want out of life. Cut out the stuff that's obviously impossible like being an astronaut or something. Rank them by which ones you want to do the most. Pick the top three and research what exactly you need to accomplish them and start working at them. Remember to review the other goals as they'll move around as you go along but this should be a nice starter.

>How do I make friends with people who aren't motivated to improve?

You don't.

>Which improvements are worth it and which doesn't

It's all subjective. My personal opinion is how fulfilled it makes me.

>…and at which point it gets pointless

If it's not fulfilling anymore I drop it.

Easy mistake, don't confused enjoyment for fulfillment. Not the same thing.

But what if you have a depression and everthing sucks?

Or you feel fulfilled but it turns out to be a long term tarpit that steals years of your life?

>But what if you have a depression and everything sucks?

I dunno, I guess what's worked for me is that I try to keep busy with things that fulfill me. At least it detracts from my otherwise depressing existence. Don't get me wrong, I do what I can to get ahead and better myself but that's not a replacement for emotions. You're asking for two completely different things.

>Or you feel fulfilled but it turns out to be a long term tarpit that steals years of your life?

Then you weren't really fulfilled and were merely in it for enjoyment. It may take a few tries to truly see what is necessary. Take what I say with a grain of salt though. This is sorta what I've experienced and what's worked for me.
