to get started

got a haircut what else to do to not look like a total trainwreck?

 No.411

Lift and run (swim/bike or something if you don't want to run, but do something aerobic exercise that uses a fair amount of muscle). Your hair looks fine now. You just have to get in shape and you will be better looking. I would ditch the glasses and keep contacts.

 No.417

I'm sure you expected this one but I'll say it anyway, join gym. Start working out, it'll help you with self confidence and make you look and feel good. Also, I don't know how you walk but make sure you have a confident posture when you do.

>>411 What this Anon said, get contacts. With glasses you have to take into account a person's head shape, so if a person finds a pair that fits well with their head shape they can look really good and if they don't it can make them look bad. The glasses in your photo do not go well with your head shape. Do some research on this and then either get contacts or glasses that go well with your face shape. In my opinion, you should wear contacts during the losing weight process and then find glasses that suit your face when you have lost weight.

For the losing weight process you will need to start healthy habits to achieve this. When starting habits start small, small enough that it's actually worthwhile to do and small enough that you will 100% do it. So for example, if I wanted to start doing 500 push ups a day I wouldn't start on a hundred, I'd start on 50 a day. 50 is easy enough that I wouldln't need a lot of motivation and high enough to make it worthwhile for a beginner. I'd do this daily and for next week I'd increase it to 100 push ups a day and so on and on. Once you reach the 500 a day push up mark it will be a norm in your life and you will be able to do it without having to motivate yourself a lot. So remember, start small and then gradually increase. Use the habitrpg game to help you with that, join our party if you haven't already.

>>416
This. Smile more, it makes you approachable and makes people comfortable in your presence. Don't smile 24/7 as that can be creepy but remind yourself to smile once in a while or while talking to someone.

All in all you have potential to look great, losing weight will be your hardest challenge but apply the habit thing above and it should make it bearable. Considering how slow this board moves, check back once in a while on this thread for updates.

Do a body shot. Not naked, but clothed to give us a fair idea on what you should wear.

 No.422

Wow.

It's amazing how a near haircut makes you look so much more presentable.

You've gone from greasy nerd to employable achiever, and that's not bad at all.

 No.448

Well at least you aren't afraid of showing your face to a bunch of anonymous people, so you're a braver mam than a lot of us.

Also, on the contacts side, I think if you can dedicate time to work out and get /fit/ then you could try to find a pair of glasses that suit your face. Some people wear them well.

looks good. do some minor cardio/exercise and you'll be good to go.

 No.500

easiest and most effective way to lose weight is to lift heavy, focusing on big compound exercises, and supplement that with high intensity cardio. both lifting and high intensity cardio will boost your metabolism, allowing you to use more energy in a day on top of the calories you are already burning through exercise

 No.520

God damn dude, that's a night and day difference. You look a hell of a lot better.

Fuck, I remember when I got my haircut about 6 months ago. I had some LONG ass hippie hair down to my mid-back on a good day. I walk into the barber shop and the Arab guy in there starts busting my balls like "How was Woodstock, Mr. Hippie?" I laugh my ass off and we bullshit for a bit, ended up getting a good price on a proper haircut. It was $20 I think.

I felt a lot better afterwards. I looked a hell of a lot younger and wasn't able to buy alcohol without being carded (17), but I think it was worth it. I didn't sweat nearly as much, and I slept much better.

All of you faggots should invest in a haircut.

so for a rundown you need gym, hygiene, a pleasant demeanor (or one that doesn't look depressed or upset - your emotions have a major effect (obviously) on your demeanor if you're not covering it up, so change your emotions and you change how you seem to other people. You also need to dress for the occasion - clothes that match the scenario. If your in a public place a polo shirt that's clean with some blue jean will do. A buissness - like setting might lean you toward corprate casual (if farmiliar with the place and the 'dress code' is laid back but still business like) or a suit for a area you know less well or in a setting where it's expected or deemed cooth. So, for another rundown:
exercise
hygiene
demeanor/mood
dress
Hope it helps OP.

Lose weight.

NEVER think of yourself as a total trainwreck or your behaviour will reflect that.

Stand proud, you don't realise how bad everyone's (including your own) posture is. Your posture also shapes your mentality to some degree.

I'm doing stronglifts. I lost a lot of fat and put on some heavy muscle.

I didn`t like going to the gym (Shy mofu) so I got a squatrack fot at home. If you`re going for the home gym I would advice getting a power cage. It`ll cost more, but it is more versatile.

And stronglifst has got a rather good app to track progress.

In order of importance:

>do weight lifting

Getting thin will take a while and being a fat muscular guy looks way better than being a fatty fat guy. Also contrary to popular believe will weight lifting actually help losing fat. It's way more fun than running if you are fat too.

>get a healthy skin color

Just do something outdoors for at least half an hour per day once spring hits. Go for a walk or do some gardening work, or just sit on a park bench and listen to music or read a book. This is very important too and it will make a huge difference.

>take cold showers

I know this is hard but it will help reducing bad skin, boosts concentration and starts the day with at least one unpleasant thing you didn't procrastinate.

>buy new clothes more often

That t-shirt looks old as fuck. Wearing stuff that is very old makes you look like a neckbeard. Just order it on the internet if you don't want to go into shops, doesn't really matter, just buy new stuff regularly. And don't buy tents, just buy whatever fits your size and isn't uncomfortable. Hiding your fat in wide clothes doesn't work, it just makes you look silly, like those bald guys who comb their remaining side hair over their bald top-head.

Good luck anon.

Good move anon. I second the guys who said lifting instead of running. Why? I personally find running boring as shit. Take walks around some nice nature paths. Read some fiction if you haven't already started (Hemingway is great for masculinity).

Last thing, not sure if you're tired but you look very sad. Lighten up a bit and present yourself with more confidence.

Best of luck anon and good on you for taking the initiative.

 No.947

Nice haircut man, good start. Also, you look better without glasses.
For the body, do plenty of cardio (running around, jumping jacks, etc) and consider lifting if you want muscle.

Dieting is really simple, despite what you may think. First, cut all the gross beverages like soda and alchahol out of your diet. Stick to water. For food, throw all the junkfood out and eat healthy foods like fruit and vegetables and lean chicken breast. Also, NO SNACKS! I can't stress that enough. Besides those three simple rules, just make sure you consume under 2000 calories a day and you'll start loosing weight fast.

Also, you should take a body shot so we can give you clothing recommendations and get a better idea of a diet plan for you.

As far as social and emotional health go, lighten up and talk to people. Make friends, build relationships, tell jokes and stories. Be a social, friendly guy.

>bad habits

cut as many of them as you can. anime, general news, etc. of course, you still need your timewasters. keep 8chan and maybe one or two other things.

>contacts

lol no, you're going to fuck your eyes up. keep using glasses and save for a GOOD lasik surgery.

Other than that, it's what you want to do man. Don't be so down, the fact that you had the balls to post a picture showing something you did to try and improve is a huge step forward.

First of all, you really need to lose some weight. This will probably be your biggest challenge, and will take at least one year to accomplish fully. Start by eating about 1600 calories per day from now on. Cut out all beverages except for water and dark coffee. Eat only lean meats like chicken and fish, whole grains, beans, eggs, and a shitload of vegetables and fruit to fill up. Maybe buy some whey protein to create low calorie meal replacements.
Protein is king. Eat about 0.7g of protein per pound of body mass.

Start lifting, and do some cardio too. Start by walking for 30 minutes each day. Every week, add 10 minutes, until you get to the one hour point. From now on, you will only go on walks thrice a week. During these walks, you will walk for 3 minutes, then lightly jog for two. To twelve of these intervals, to add up to an hour. If you feel that your legs are not strong enough to run yet, go swimming instead.

For a beginning guide to lifting, go to /fit/. They'll help you on your way, better than i can in one post.

 No.1359

Don't just "smile once and a while" practice smiling make it a habit. I have a "bitchy resting face" and I had to consciously make myself smile when my face was resting just give a slight grin. People notice and it makes you more approachable, obviously. Also, make an effort to smile when you are talking to someone, nod, and maybe an occasional of course or yeah I see what you're saying. It makes people feel like you care about what they're saying.

This this this this this

Throw out ALL your soda, all your sugary shit. If you drink alcohol, limit yourself to maybe a beer at the end of the week.

DIET and MODERATE MOVEMENT is what will get you the farthest. Lifting and heavy exercise/extreme cardio is only "icing", if you want to put it that way.

This is the definitive reason people are gross. It's literally liquid candy and folks drink it like water. I have never met an overweight person in my life that didn't chug soda, unless of course they drink beer all day or over sugary tea.

Grow a beard OP, a full one, just a tad above stubble. The improvements will be VAST, I promos from experience, looking something like yourself. It covers up the chin and some of the fat, improves confidence by making you feel masculine and aggressive, and evens/fulls out the face, making you look older and more shaped. It's a great first step. While you grow that puppy, work out by following the other guys steps. My advice here is the beard one, it's tangible and requires no work at all.

Juice fasting is extreme and is not necessary. By juicing you make it very easy to get all the nutrition you need as you don't spend time eating tons of vegetables.

As for your question, if you do decide to go all the way and juice fast like a champ then you will:

-Lose weight very quickly and keep it off as you will create healthy habits.
-Your taste buds will no longer be fucked up due to the sugary diet of modern man.
-Your senses will sharpen and you will be more alive due to the nutrition you finally grant your body.

You can't build muscle unless you eat a lot. So no, sticking to a juice diet does not make you put on muscle. You can do it.

firsts things fucking first, i stopped drinking my calories and carried around a 2L bottle of water so whenever i was thirsty id just drink water and not some sugary shit.

then i started to walk every fucking day, at first just couple times round the block then eventually id get up first thing in the morning and walk for an hour.

once i could do that i deiced fuck that couch to 5k shit im going to become /fit/ so i went to /fit/ read the goddamn sticky and started to hit the gym, at first i went maybe once or twice a week, eventually i was able to consistently go 3 or 4 times a week.

at this point i would walk for an hour everyday and hit the gym 3 or 4 times a week, so i thought i might as well fix my diet, so i started by eating oats for breakfast instead of the shit i was eating.

then i slowly started to eat shit like beans, lean meats and vegetables

now faggot im not going to lie, i fucked up countless fucking times, but every time i fucked up i said to my self tomorrow is a new day, i have another chance not to fuck up

if you slowly change shit you will be able to turn your life around, shits not easy you got to keep at it faggot

I guess we will never know. For all we know OP fixed his life up to the point he is above and beyond chans, or, on the flip side of the coin, he failed and didn't stand back up.

What we can do to help OP and people like him is lead by example. Show them that it is possible to change, that we won't be like this forever, that we will all make it.

Lose the double chin fatty, meditate very hardcore and you will lose the weight, I find meditation is more effective and wears out the body more than aerobic exercise even but you can do both if you want; meditate and exercise. The specific meditation you need to use is fire meditation from IIH or tumo meditation if following the Eastern Tradition.
