 No.4354

I'm looking at starting a small business and want some advice from other people. I don't want to give my exact details but I want to start a loot crate knock off for a niche hobby that has a lot of people who have a lot of expendable cash. They're known for buying expensive stuff and there is a wide range of products focused at them which would fit well in a box.

I have 20 years experience in this hobby and I'm in the world's central point for it. So I think it's viable to set up a loot crate knock off for it here and because I'm already contacting the distros, I can have an ebay store on the side selling the entire range of products.

Has any one else tried this or would they have any advice? I'm currently on neet bucks due to disability, I want to get off them and this seems like a potential path for me.

Don't know shit about doing business, but honestly that sounds awesome.

You could market all sorts of things to hipsters. Even things you wouldn't expect, especially hand-made products.

You will need some buddies/ co-workers to make a decent production line tho.

You'll definitely wanna set up a website with some sort of mailing list. Email people quality articles or lists relevant to this hobby on a weekly basis or so to keep them interested, and also to serve as a platform for any advertising you may do, or special deals.

Sounds like you already have a solid grasp on your field, so that's really good. If you can, get something of a reputation for it. Win a contest, or guest write an article for a blog on the subject. Take a class and get some certificate. I don't know if any of this is applicable to your situation, but you get the idea.

A good book for starter entrepreneurs is the Four Hour Workweek. The author hypes things up a bit too much, but there's a lot of really good info and lessons from experience in there.

Good luck anon. Don't give up on this, sounds like you've got something really good on your hands.
