NoVidya February coming up!
Why should you participate?
1. Sitting a lot is bad for you. Even if you exercise regularly.
2. Free up time for productive shit like getting a job or a gf or what have you
3. A challenge for your willpower. Are you strong enough to make it?
If you game a lot, this could be the most important thing you need to change your life around.
No.725
I played very little vidya for this month. Am I exempt?
No.760
i disagree OP, when video games are your main hobby (% time wise) then trying to quit cold turkey is just suffering and doesn't accomplish anything. a better idea would be an enforced limit, and you should post alternatives
No.762
well, Im gonna try ≤2hrs on week days
No.763
This is perfect for me, clocked up 40 days last year on mw3 survival. Will be trying this.

>>763OP here, so nice to be in this together with someone! Good luck to you!
No.765
>>764Good luck to you too bud. I'll post here every couple days to see how your doing and let you know how i'm getting on.
No.775
One day down, 27 to go. The temptation to game has been very strong. I wonder if it will decrease or increase.
No.787
Ok, the temptation has decreased a lot already. The challenge now is to use the newly freed time for something productive rather than lurking chans and shit.
No.788
>>787I'm glad it's working out for you man.
You should make a plan, outlining what you should get do or get done each day. For example, an hour of study on this particular day or 1 hour of jogging on that day etc. When you have a plan, shit just runs much more smoother and you'll be able to be much more efficient with your new found time.
No.807
Bored out of my mind. Very close to giving in.

>>763Hey man how you doing?
–
For me its been starting to get easier now. Tbh first week or so I just replaced my vidya with compulsive "interneting". And then it was hard to motivate pushing on. Because I was just replacing one vice with another right?
But since a few days I've started doing productive shit. And due to that I feel a lot better about the whole project. Like in my doubtful moments, I can look back on the things I have gotten done, and I realize that yes, it is actually worth it.
No.861
Urk, I failed today. Picked up an ipad just to do some surfing. Played a quick game of air hockey without even thinking about it, just out of habit.
Shit. Still, I'll try my best not to do it again.
No.912
Managed to get back into novidya after that small slipup.
No.913
>>912What are you doing with the extra time?
No.917
I have shit PC so I don't play video games anyway.
And it's better that way, I started working out and reading more.
I recommend everyone to stop playing video games for some time.
No.922
>>913Interview prep and degree project and random surfing.
