Hi /improve/, I just found this board because it's featured, and I want to share this game/app with you guys, because it has helped me a lot over the past few months. It's called HabitRPG
Essentially, Habit turns your life into a RPG. You fill in your goals, to-do's and daily chores and you get rewards (exp, gold, potions, pets) for doing/achieving stuff. If you don't do them, you take damage. There is also quest system, with bosses. They even have an Android app.
For me, it's a little extra motivation to just get shit done. I'm a lvl 16 Rogue.
We could create our own guild and help each other out.

HabitRPG seemed good in theory to me, but I didn't end up doing it. I started creating some games in my life but they have gone by the wayside for now. Gamification as an idea I think will be utilized in the future. It's a great way to trick a person into getting lots of good work done. People have been talking about this idea for a while, about how to merge play and work together. Learn how to make work into play, and make play productive.

There's quite a few apps to gamify your goals:
1. fitocracy (exercise tracking)
2. Lift (more for general goals)
3. Pact (small amounts of money are wagered so you could either lose or win a small amount of money. I think this just focuses on exercise and nutrition like you need to submit proof geotracking and taking pics of your healthy food)
But I'm looking for something really broad. Because I'm sucking at something different every week. I'm a grad student so I have freedom to work whenever I want but I know that if I sleep properly like an old man I get more work done otherwise I crash.
Any thoughts? Is habitRPG better for this?

The advantage to the /improve/ guild though is that every person in the guild wants to improve themselves and every person there is either building or has a mentality for change, they have the necessary perspectives and the necessary experience to give good and helpful advice. On /adv/ it's a luck of the draw, you may get good advice or you may get a full thread full of useless pointless shit that doesn't get you any closer to your goal.
