I want to learn everything.

What's the closest I can get and how can I go about it?

>>>/freedu/ might help.

Why don't you just learn something about a specific sector or a specific subject and 100% learn off every single thing to do with said subject.

That will actually benefit you, as opposed to tonnes of things which not only will you have a hard time remembering but also you won't know either well enough.

Start fundamental, them move upward.

Math and physics. Then move on to inorganic chemistry, then organic.

I would like to do the same OP. I want to start learning a little bit about everything, but I don't know where to start.

 No.1761

Libraries and wikipedia are the best OP.

You could also literally read the entire world book encyclopedia. Which you could get at a library.

There is a definite curve to learning where you start off with:

a) I don't know shit, progress to
b) I've read a few things and have a degree, now I know pretty much everything, and finally get to
c) I've learned deeply in multiple subjects and I am humbled by the amount of knowledge that I don't possess and won't ever be able to acquire.

Most people don't bother getting from A to B and of those that do, very few get to C. That is the goal, to learn enough to become good at leaning and appreciate the limitations of human knowledge.

Here is what I am doing and would encourage others to do. Start out by picking one subject that you want to go deep on. Try to read as much from that subject as you can but alternate with things you are randomly interested in. So read one book on the focus topic then one book on something else, then one book on the focus topic again and so on. Your focus topic should be something that is pretty specific. Don't just read 30 history books, read 30 history books on some specific part of history. A good place to start is by figuring out a question to answer like "how did the early 20th century fascist movements relate to the mid 19th century nationalist movements and what were the differences?" or "how did the rapid economic development of Singapore differ from the economic development of Japan?". Read books form multiple perspectives. Read a few pleb level books to get you started but then try to level up to more scholarly sources if you can.

This method has two benefits. Reading a variety of books is great because you will gain a broad low level knowledge about a wide range of subjects. Having a broad but shallow knowledge will allow you to make better mental connections between seemingly disparate subjects and bring you valuable insights. Going deep on one subject is great because it really teaches you how to learn something complex. Amazingly, almost no people go through the effort to really learn a subject. Even if you get a bachelors degree in something you will probably only really need to read 10-20 books on that subject to get by and even then you are diluting your knowledge across a broad spectrum of a single subject.

just start whit the things you like
then learn about new things related to them, and then increase what you're studying/learning

Through one thing know a thousand - Miyamoto Musashi

With learning and becoming an expert in many arts as your first task should be to become a master of learning.

Have your first topic the research and experimentation of training. Apply what you learn unto itself.

To have the grit to master the art of learning is to be your goal, first step, and habit. If random trivia and diverse amateur skill is your desire ask yourself if that's anything more than mental masturbation.

Fully master any one thing is greater tool than a thousand amateur insights.

Try reading a book, listening to a book on tape while using your hands to read braille books, learn things 3 times as fast.

how do you get anything done?

Multitasking is inefficient. You're better off putting all you concentration into each and every task you have to do until you're done.
