on the old orientation system, its jam packed into a week or two, you get told to do weird crazy shit(like in the picture), if you dont follow it, you're still a student there but you're supposed to repeat orientation week the next year with the even newer newfags i think.

the new orientation system is much milder than the old one, it goes for a whole semester, or can be longer, depends… if the seniors think your alumni is worthy of the title "mahasiswa" then good job, but if they don't think your alumni is ready yet, they can prolong it as much as they want.

i'm officially a student here, but if you don't do all that orientation stuff you're probably still a student in anon U, but the student council or the students committee or whatever it is wont accept you as a student and they're probably gonna keep bothering you to do all that orientation stuff untill you finish it…i think.

my last orientation was 2 years ago for highschool and now im in my 3rd grade, my school is one of the favorite in my town(not bragging) and the orientation is not that bad as i remember

and they do keep track of who is doing it and who isnt, since you need to sign your absence.

and the shittyness of orientation depends for each uni and faculties, some get 100 pushups, and some just dont get physical punishment at all.

See this is the bullshit of indo education system. We don't need more than 2 orientation stuff. We're grown up now, we don't act like an underage and we know how hard stuff is in the big bad world. Those reasons are just for seniors to exploit us with their masochistic fetish and tendencies
