I thought the two fights were handled brilliantly. Kagura fighting her brother was less about her strength and more about the battle being about the unspoken connection she has with Okita. It was their win. The fight Gin had with Takasugi was not a fight, really. It was to brothers having an argument about their father. Gin's battle was so emotionally charged that it was painful to watch. Neither of them were right, they just had different points of view but still respected and loved one another enough that they couldn't hold anything back.
