I can't wait for lent to end. I baked a ham for shrove tuesday and after I cut the excess meat off and gave it out as sandwiches to the local homeless I froze he bone. I am going to spend all Easter Sunday making the dankest split pea soup out of it. I am actually thinking of doing that aussie thing and baking some lamb and beer meat pies and floating one in the soup.

Pea and ham soup is one of the dankest foods ever invented. Such a good flavour combination.

Dude, are you kidding? I loved /meatpie/. Since we can't buy real meat pies here I started experimenting with recipes and came up with what I think is the dankest one ever. It is a hybrid pie that uses an American biscuit crust and a Russian piroshki style filling. I load it with butter and cream and it is so rich and delicious you would think your face melted. I tried making a French Canadian style maple pork pie at first but since cabbage was in season I used that and it came out all bitter and weird tasting. So I ditched the pork switched to lamb on a whim and adjusted the spices and it was amazing. The real find and what made it mind blowing was when I found a local importer that carried this smoke Hungarian paprika. It has this insanely robust flavor with an almost salty and peaty accent. The lamb, onions, beer, paprika and cream create this mellow flavor that is solidly balanced by the rich fluffy butter biscuit dough. All the excess juices get absorbed by the crust which can make it a little dry, but I am counting on the soup to fill the gap and give me the best Easter dinner of my life.

I am sorry this post was so autistic, but like a good burger my two passions are guns and food.

UN is baiting hipsters. Those without coeliac disease should not worry about that.

Is everyone ready to dip crunchy naans in spicy hot Punjabi tadka daal?

Tourtiere isn't bad, but it can be pretty bland. I always add a bunch of spicy stuff to mine to keep it interesting.

My orchard was fruiting so I had a bunch of apples and traded with my neighbor for his syrup. The apples and maple complimented the pork a lot, but the cabbage was a huge mistake. I think next year I will try again and omit the cabbage. I will also use a bay leaf and whiskey because I think it will really bring the flavor of the meat and fruit out.

But good on you for knowing what I was talking about, Ameribro.

I know that all too well… my sister is a hippie who believes she can heal her body through the GAPS diet, as well as various other hippie things. Note: does not have coeliac, crohns, or anything like that.

Can't eat gluten, sugar, soy, dairy, most other cereals, anything artificial, sulfur-based preservatives, nitrate/nitrite based preservatives. Eats organic, free-range, grass fed, when possible. Avoids certain fruits that she believes to be high in pesticides.

And then there's the "intolerances" - tomato, egg (that's back in now though), buckwheat, rice (back in). And on it goes.

These were found by a crackpot loon holding a jar of the substance near my sister, and if my sister reacted in XYZ way then she was intolerant to it, the body can sense through the magnetic energies. I think she used the words "quantum entanglement" at one point. With some people, the crackpot can even just say the name of the food and the person will react.

This fucker has the gall, the tenacity, to come over and expect someone to cook food for her.

Put a marinade on some meat? Whoops, it had soy/wheat/cunteye-magic-powder in it. Use some butter or flour? Ya dun fucked up.

gay as a row of tents, that all is.
