>Did/does your country have a class system?
Not really. The model just doesn't quite fit on Australia. Classes don't segregate- there isn't say a pub for the tradies and one for the office workers/ suits. Of course, rich people eat at some rich place. But trendy people love to eat at those places too- one I know is a social media worker (i.e. paid to fartarse around).
Some of the best paid people in Australia are mining industry workers, such as diesel mechanics, the actual miners, truck drivers, et. al. These people have plenty of money- many workers in the NW of the country fly to Bali for holidays, monthly.
There are many trades like this as well- not uncommon for plumbers and gas fitters to earn >110k a year.
There's a strong "elitist" undercurrent in a smallish fraction of Australia's white collar workers, and they get hugely butthurt by miners getting very good wages and enjoying themselves (drinking, going to bali, buying boats/cars/4WDs, fishing). They love to lord it over them because of their intellectual superiority- to them, miners & tradies are all stupid, "waste their money" and other things.
Apart from butthurt on internet sites, this doesn't lead to much though.
TL;DR/summary: most simply don't give a fuck
